Well, not that it really matters to a lot of people here, I just need to vent.

I deliver groceries for a living, working out of the back of an 18 wheeler. Monday morning at 3:30a.m., I fell from the ramp we use, about 5ft onto a concrete parking lot, creating a compound break of the lower humerus in my right arm. Sadly, I am right handed.

They had to do reconstructive surgery, using plates and screws to put the bone back together. Being 50yrs old, its going to take a while to heal, so no bowling for me for quite a while.

Anybody else ever have anything similar, or been around someone who did?

Maybe time to become a wrongsider? More oil over there and you won't have to battle the desert so much?

Sorry to here man.

I am slowly learning to bowl from the left side. Right now I am carrying a 184 in a league I sub in on Sundays throwing my Natural. I can't believe how much more revos I put on the ball from the left side. Probably because It looks even more horrendous than my delivery on the right side.

Always worth a shot if you feel like the right side will take a long time to heal, but that's my impatience speaking.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I'm in the process of trying to find out where I fit in the bowling world. I do not know my tech specs of my game, but it's all a learning process.

Sorry to hear that.

I broke my fifth metarsal in an off season football Practice in high school. I was out for 12 weeks in a cast from my knee down. It was the longest 12 weeks of my life. But when I could bowl again I had a different respect for the game...for awhile lol.

Sad to hear about your accident.

I broke my wrist in a car accident several years ago. I had to wear a cast for 13 weeks. That happened in the summer and I had to take the entire bowling season off that year. When I started back it was a struggle, but it got better. The season I started back I won the high average and most improved award.

Sorry to hear about your fall and the resulting injuries. Having been dealing with foot surgeries etc. for the last 8 years i sympathise with you. Hope for a speedy and healthy recovery. Unfortuanatly at our age we don't recover as quickly as we used to. Speaking from experience do not try to come back to soon.

I didn't see this yesterday. Very sorry to hear this.

Compound fracture?? Must have been gruesomely painful and shocking to see your own bone protruding through the skin. Surprised you're already typing this and home.

I hope it's not too painful now. Guess you've got some pain medications. Hope the healing goes as quickly as possible as well as the therapy for returning to work. Hope, also that workman's compgives you and your family enough to live on until you can return to work.

Only time I saw that was in Viet Nam and there weren't many hospitals nearby.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope all goes well for you in your recovery. I went through an issue last March - May with an infection of a disc in my back and was not able to bowl until August of last year. Hopefully you will be able to recover and throw the ball as well or better. Good luck!

Sorry, to hear about your accident.

Hope your arm heals well.

My mother went through the same surgery at 90...Her arm didn't heal because of her age. (She's now 94, still alive and kicking.)

If you're not satisfied with the healing process, make sure you see your doctor....Good luck man....

Mine doesn't sound as bad as yours! Years ago before I retired and I was getting close to 60 I took a nasty fall onto my left shoulder. I knew something was bad wrong the second it happened.

Fortunately, mine is about 95% better after arthroscopic surgery from a sports medicine surgeon. They went into the joint at three or four different locations. The MRI I had before the surgery didn't show much. They didn't find out how bad it was until they went in.

I sure wish you a speedy recovery! Through the years I've been through rehab for my shoulders four times. I hated it, but for the most part it works.

A fourbagger by any other name is still a fourbagger. Get it right or flunk bowling 101.
