Rouge Cell Vs Hyroad( 15 lb)

Had decided on a Hyroad as a heavy medium ball.......love the R2S Hybrid! But lately they''ve been putting more oil on the lanes and I started to give the Rouge Cell a thought. Besides, I have great success using the Mutant Cell as my first ball.

I always like to keep all my balls at 1000 to 2000 Siaair no polish. I wonder how much stronger is the Rouge Cell with this surface compared to the Hyroad? And how durable is the Cytoplasmic Hybrid coverstock?( The R2S Hybrid was "very" durable for me).

I would say the R2S Hybrid is a bit stronger, but if you want a ball that takes surface adjustments better, than the Rogue definitely does that.  I have a Hy-Road and it only seems to work for me at OOB finish.  Where my wife has a Rouge and we've messed with the cover a lot to get the right combination.  One other major difference I've noticed is the how much more maintenance the Rogue requires than the Hy-Road.  The Rogue simply absorbs a lot more oil than the my Hy-Road, maybe it's because I keep it 1500 grit polished.
Hope this helps.  I think the Rogue would be a fine compliment to your Mutant, which I also have and love.

i have never thrown either ,but my bf throws both and he uses the hyroad on everything,the rogue very rarely sees lane time. I would have thought that at least on the fresh,the rogue would have been the go to,but the hyroad is a better finishing ball than his rogue on all shots. He is a straighter player so he doesnt cover many boards any way,but the hyroad in his hands is def. the stronger of the two. both oob,rougue pin under ring hyroad pin over bridge.

Again there's the idea that stronger, oil loving balls need more oil to work properly than others. The HyRoad is polished normally and has a high RG. The Rogue has both a stronger coverstock and a lower RG than the Hy Road. If the HyRoad is hooking more, the odds are there's not enough oil for the Rogue to perform properly. It's doing what we call, burning up in the heads and the midlane. It's using up all its energy and has little left for hooking and hitting power.

The Rogue also has an asymmetric core that must be drilled properly, very specific to a bowler's release in order to react properly. It is possible that his is not quite drilled correctly.

OK, no "definite" answers and that means they are about the same? I have been using the Or. Cell and Mutant Cell on heavier oil but I do "not" feel the coverstock is that strong. Once in a while they go too far and would not turn the corner( I track low and that contributes to it).

But as far as I remember: my Surefire with the R2S hybrid would always turn the corner( ball was retired 8 months ago). Like titletowncards mentioned: it absorbed very little oil and required little maintenance.

For now the Hyroad drilled somewhat strong.......thanks all!

The Rogue and Hy-road are two completely different performance points. The Rogue is stronger than the original Cell by at least 5 boards. Just because it is a hybrid doesn't mean it is weaker. I was just making this point else where. The Rogue is also not that big of a oil absorber like people think. Mine has over 100 games on it and still going strong. The Cytoplasmic cover stocks absorb less than any other performance ball on the market. This comparison is a completely useless one. Polished or sanded the Rogue is stronger hands down. The only Roto ball stronger is the Mutant. They use the same cover just the mutant is solid.
