Youth Participation
« on: April 15, 2004, 10:29:44 AM »
Without meaning to start trouble, I am frustrated by the insurgance of the youth participation within the adult forum. The youth have there own forum which I am sure few adults post to. I have begun to read the profiles just to determine if they are youth and if I determine they are, I have not been responding simply because I am here to have adult communications about bowling.

Now I know that youth need information as well, but why have a youth forum if this is an open forum? There have been some really superficial questions posted here by youth that should have been posted in the youth forum. We have lost several good adult posters over this issue and it threatens this forum more and more everyday.

I dont know how to resolve the problem or if others feel this is a problem. I dont want anyone to be offended by this comment as that is not my intent. Lets have a discussion on the topic and not resort to the typical teen bantering.

I treat the youth questions like any other on this forum.  Some are good and some I ignore.  I even find the what kind of ball questions sometimes interesting.  With some of the new shoes out on the market the shoe question made sense.  What kind of shoes do you use and why is important to beginning bowlers.  They want to know what most people are using and then go look at them.  I was interested in feedback on the Etonics.  Still some topics I just go eh ok next topic.  Many of the post here are not rocket science but good general conversation.

Not being one to make a stand for the wrong reasons, I do stand corrected and have come to a change of opinion. Thanks to those who responded.
