Youth to Adult. Please Help!
« on: May 13, 2010, 06:29:13 AM »
Im 18 years old and would like to go from youth to adult. How does one do this and does it cost anything? Also, I'm already USBC Collegiate-Youth. Do I still have to update it to bowl in an adult money league? Thanks for the help!

To get into an adult leauge is pretty easy actually. You might want to make sure that joining an adult money leauge will not effect your Collegiate status. I''m thinking it will and you might lose any scolarships you have unless you cash them out before hand, I''m not 100% sure on all of that so double check before joining an adult leauge.

To join an adult leauge all you do is find the leauge you want to join, show up for the meeting (not mandatory but helps introduce you to some of the other bowlers), then show up for the 1st day of bowling, fill out the sanctioning card and pay the sanctioning fees. In my area sanction fees are $18.

You have a Youth USBC sanction #, once you join an adult leauge you will have an all new sanction # that will be your lifetime sanction #.

Now if this is a non-sanctioned money leauge you won''t have to fill out any sanction cards or anything but you still might lose your youth status and any money you might have in scholarships. Again double check with all that before joining the adult leauge unless you don''t care about your youth status or any money you might have.

As for your friends who have never bowled, all they do is show up with you on the same day (I''m guessing you and your 2 friends will be on the same team) and all 3 of you fill out the sanctioning cards and pay the sanctioning fees.

I''m sure the leauge secratary will be more then happy to help you out with any other questions you might have.
