Can't get my finish to... (edit)!
« on: April 25, 2007, 12:55:25 PM »
finish! I gave you all the wrong layout, the pin is over and right of my ring finger, mb is 3 inches from the pap in the lower thumb quadrant. its a 4 1/2x3 pin and mb. out of box. Sorry to delete the whole post, just thought it would be easier to give you the correct information! Like it was said, the ball looks awesome off my hand, revs up very nice and looks like its just going to leave splinters on the pin deck, but the hit and backend is just not there. Surface change?

3" to VAL is still an early rolling, reduced backend MB position. However, what is important is MB distance to PAP, NOT VAL. The results seem to indictae that, still.

no closer than 3, no further than 3.5 to the pap

I agree with above post....I use that layout to have little finish at the back ....or sort of hook set.

The ones I have seen finish and finish HARD!

Good luck...

Wouldn't this be really close to the forward roll drilling off of the sheet?  Seems to me that I recall something similar to that from the sheet.  Personally, I would think this ball would roll a little straighter on the back b/c the mb is closer to the PAP then the pin.  The further the mb is away from the PAP then the more continuation you would see on the back IMO.

Weight hole first, inside PAP will do (4" from center of grip throug cg?)  Then try scuffing the surface.  I think mb placement is fine.

MB 3.5 from PAP is NOT a flip position. It will cause a ball to roll really early and actually go into a forward roll at the breakpoint. It is an oil placement.....of if you are on drier backends it can actually end up being a control placement.

that is exactly where the x hole is! i dont seem to have any trouble with any other (xception, 5.0, rule, total nv) balls that had the exact same layout laying off as much as this is right now. will try scuffing... 4000 2000 or more?

I would try 1000 or 2000.  If you can, try green scotch brite followed by a coat Rough Buff.

This ball has left the LEAST amount of 10 pins of any ball that I have ever owned. It is an AWESOME FINISHER! I suggest that you plug it and have it re-drilled or sell it.

I'm actually thinking of buying an AF w/same drilling as my ARevs.  It's 5 1/4" pin to pap, 5 1/2" mb to pap, with pin 3" above mid above and between the fingers.  I'm hoping the AF will give more area w/that drilling, but be controllable.
