Yup, I am very impressed with my brand new S&A. Got it punched up last week and only made 3 games so far, 2 for thumb hole adjustments and 1 "real". Ball has extreme backend power, you can really see how the core "kicks in" and makes the ball turn the corner and roll into the deck with true power. This 3rd game was a nice 214 clean game - mostly because the S&A finished well, sent messengers all across the deck and left easy spares to cover, almost no corner pin.
To get back to the sound topic: each house sound differently, sure, but a "good" strike has a special sound. When the ball enters the pocket cleanly and takes ouit the 5 pin as it should do, this makes a short, cracking noise. The strike itself is alos "over" very quickly, it seems to be a kind of deck implosion.
The short cracking sound is also a sign that the ball has much energy left which is imparted to the pins very well. I had this sound several times with my Raging Red Fuze, Trauma, my Eliminator and my XXcel on the right condition. The S&A seems to be another candidate, too
