so what are the MoRich covers finished at? I want to say abralon due to the 4000 finishes of the solid and Nsane but I can't find any solid info on the Mo site.

He usually talks in terms of Abralon grits.

thanks.the description of wet sand/pad is somewhat a shot in the dark.

You'd think he'd specify that. Especially on the website.

I mean, if you look at this chart, where do we differentiate between abralon and 'sanding paper'?
1) High Gloss Polish (Sahara, Ravage, Awesome Finish)
2) Rough Buff/Compound (Awesome Revs, Awesome Flip, Shock & Awe)
3) 4000-grit wed sand (Solid LevRG, Nsane LevRG)
4) 1200-grit wet sand (Seek & Destroy)
5) 1000-grit wet sand (LevRG)
6) 800-grit wet sand (Total Annihilation)
7) 500-grit wet sand (Awesome Hook, Weapon of Mass Bias)
8) 400-grit wet sand (Total Shock & Awe)
Someone care to tell me where the change from abralon to sand paper happens?
If #5 is abralon and #7 is sand paper, then you would be, in effect getting the same finish, wouldn't you?
If it's all abralon, where do you get the difference between 400 and 500?
-
Since, as far as I know, there's no such grit levels in ABralon pads as 400, 800 or 1200, I must assume these are sandpaper or nylon pads.
The LevRG being more modern, I suspect that 1000 grit is Abralon (500 grit on US level terms)
4000 grit only comes in Abralon. So, that's that.

Fred Caroll told me that all the LevRg line are abralon surfaces.

Ok, then using logic and reasoning....
If the 1000 on the LevRG is more like 500 grit in the US grade, then the LevRG has a duller surface than the 800 grit Total Annihilation. And then the 500 grit balls, being Abralon, are more like 360 grit US and would be duller than the surface of the 400 Total Shock and Awe. I don't own these balls, but maybe some owners could chime in and tell me if this is true.

I was partially joking around...
Morich has great customer support. If you need a definitive answer perhaps you should send them an email.

Be nice if he came on here like some of the other ball companies' reps, wouldn't it? Has he ever? Just curious.
No offense taken, Slap.

According to his site he says about scotchbrite pads for changing the reaction?

Mo is ALL about abralon....skid, hook, roll.

I don't remember if Mo ever posted on here.......BUT kotm is the most knowledgeable MoRich guy around plus drilling guru and he gave up a long time ago.
You get the teens and 20 somethings that know everything or the 50 somethings that drive off guys like Ron Hickland/Ebonite and the rest of us are all the worse.
