I have drilled about 20 or so of the Revs, and I have yet to change the factory surface for anyone...when Mo was here last week, he suggested for one person to take their surface to 2000 Abralon as on the fresh, as it was just going a tisker too long on the fresh....

You have that right J....the Revs is outselling everything in the shop right now....I have drilled almost 70 Mo balls since the beginning of November...I even have the Seek priced $35 CHEAPER than the Revs....and its still outselling the Seek!

i hadda polish it a lil but its funny in the proshop i work in the guy who runs it is on Storm Staff and he doesnt pus any Mo balls. Im the only one who has bought the last 4 mo balls he has gotten and i love every one of them. I feel bad for the people who get trapped into buying Strom cause of this guy..

As in every MoRich ball I drill, I change the surface(if needed) to one that gives me best match. Surfaces of 500 or 1000 seem to work best for me.

I have 2 Revs drilled up:
Revs #1: 4 1/4 x 5 x 3 - 1000 Abralon - Strong Continuous Hook
I bowl in 2 centers that have almost identical THS's. One is wood and the other is DBA IQ. I am 230 plus in both centers, but Revs #1 gives me the ball reaction I am looking for and is a perfect match on the wood lanes, but not the synthetic lanes. I am about 5 and 2 right on the DBA IQ, and a bit squirty for 1 game. I like wood matchup, so I do not want to change Revs #1 surface. So, I am currently using a Seek and Destroy 3 3/8 x 6 1/4 x 1 - 500 Abralon to average 230, but just do not like ball reaction. Better than the Revs, but not a great match. Revs #2 has been drilled and hopefully with some tweeking will be ball of choice for fresh shot on the DBA IQ.

Revs #2: 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 x 3 3/4 - OOB - Late Angular Hook
Making it's league debut Monday night. Showed promise during practice session on fresh. 12 strikes and 3 stone 9's in 15 shots. Owner of bowling center ordered an Awesome Revs after watching those 15 shots.

Bottom line, this is the best ball I have rolled thus far. If the next Mo ball is better than this, it will be Totally Awesome!

Yep, I'm bringing this one back from the beyond...

Since this ball has been out for a while, has anyone done more experiments with the cover?

Is 360 grit + Rough Buff still closest we can get to OOB?

I have a second Revs on the way and a shiny new spinner at home.

Slap,

Taking it down to 500, it can out move a Hook with similiar drills.

Putting High Gloss Polish on it will get in close to the Finish in box, slightly earlier and a touch smoother.

We've tweaked a couple, but it's so versatile, we've done it more with layouts than with surface.  I will say that I'll have one at 500 going with me to Reno.

I plan to put a different drill on the second one. My first Revs has Mo's control drill so I'm thinking of the sharp break point or asy flip for the second one. Something more aggressive. The ball will have a long, 4-5 inch, pin so that may influence my options.

I just got the spinner so I'm pretty new to changing covers. I pulled up this old thread in a search for ideas to try.

The medium-medium/heavy part of my arsenal is getting crowded with the new ball. That makes two Revs, a Widow and a Toxic. However I think through drilling and surface tweaks I can separation. As things are now, it's AR then BW and Toxic as far as oil handling.
