Title: Awesome Hook
Post by: J_Mac on June 02, 2006, 10:17:52 AM: Soon to be released. Vanguard core with flip blocks on the top and the bottom. Coverstock is the same as the TS&A I believe and is dark and light blue. Perhaps similar to Dynothane's Anomaly

Post by: StormRoto on June 03, 2006, 09:54:50 PM: Not sure yet until I get a chance to throw the Awesome Hook. The Hook is resin though so it should be a pretty strong reactive resin ball, stronger than the Total with more backend I would think. Stay Tuned.

Post by: Gene J Kanak on June 03, 2006, 10:08:39 PM: Stronger than the Total with more backend? That's going to be sick. The Total, in box finish, is the grippiest resin ball I've ever thrown. I had to polish mine up in order to use it on anything less than a flood! This should be something to see!

I want the strongest solid reactive and untill now it was the TS$A on the list, but its so ugly. this should be stronger and blue. seet. Post by: Next Level PS on June 03, 2006, 11:04:38 PM: Brunswick sent me a picture of it yesterday, its blue with a slite touch of yellow. it reminds me of a columbia hyde but brighter. it has flip caps top and bottom, the diff is 0.55 and rg is 2.5ish..This will be another winner from Mo..

There have been reports of them putting it in their past few releases, but they opted for the top flip cap instead. I have been thinking about an agressive solid reactive for a while, perhaps a TS&A or an old school TA or the Scorchin', but looks like I got my answer, none of the above. Also looking foward to your video Team Morich.

One other thing. It could be a stronger ball than the TS&A although the photo says other wise. Remember how dusty the TS&A was, like 400 or 500 grit matte. Its a little hard to read on the photo, but the grit could be higher.

The box surface is 500 if I remember correctly.

Post by: StormRoto on June 15, 2006, 08:03:36 PM: I punched out 3 Awesome Hooks last weekend and we made the video last Saturday night. It turned out great. I am waiting on approval from Mo to post the video. He is in Vegas the next couple of weeks for the Bowl Expo.
A little hint on how the Hook's rolled, they had a lot more backend reaction than I expected from such a strong core and cover. I will keep you guys posted... Until next time Go Morich !!!

I'm thinking that, for me, it may be best to knock my Total Shock & Awe back to box finish and then add the Total Hook, maybe even with a hint of polish. Then the top of my arsenal would look like this:

Flood: Total Shock & Awe (Box)
Heavy: Seek and Destroy
Med-Heavy: Awesome Hook
Medium: Awesome Flip

Post by: StormRoto on June 28, 2006, 01:28:29 PM: I personally think that if you drilled both the TSA and Awesome Hook with the same layout and same surface that the Awesome Hook would hook more than TSA.
The core is stronger with the extra cap. I have thrown both these balls and tested with Mo diferrent surfaces and when we scuffed up the Awesome hook it was "more ball" than the TSA.
