Awesome Revs
« on: February 04, 2007, 11:41:31 AM »
Ok, I had this ball drilled up last Monday. COuld nto throw it on those lanes due to the oil pattern. (They strip and oil in the morning and then just lay a medium pattern right over the top of it for our league that night.) So I had dig out the heavy oil ball for that.

But Tuesday and Thursday is a fresh oil pattern. First game I was in the 230's both nights. But it went down from there. Not too sure if this ball actually works in carry down, I know that it did not work for me. I did move my mark, my feet, adjusted speed and hand positions. Is there anything that I can try to get this ball to work for me?

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE, ONSLAUGHT & PYRO. STAND 22 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND CRUSH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!

How is it drilled?  Do you have a weight hole?  Mine was pretty straight before I added a weight hole.  Also, don't be afraid to have the surface changed.  My Revs at 600 grit sandpaper outhooks my Awesome Hook at 500 Abralon, and that is saying something.  Mo's balls are very adjustable; you just have to take the time to get it right.

Sounds like the same thing I'm experiencing with the Awesome Revs.

Mine is truly "Awesome" on a fresh house shot, but once the oil carries down, it's time to put it in the bag!

Throwing a revs on a house shot? Must have ALOT of head oil. I have great success with mine on flatter patterns but, there is way too much friction for the way I bowl to use it on a THS.

The Revs is not a ball that should be used on carrydown.....generally MOST bowlers use equipment that stores most of its energy for the backends...."awesome flip" would probably be a better fit for the condition you are facing.

Remember folks....much of the equipment produced today is created with a specific condition in mind to help build an arsenal. Even on some house shots it is difficult to use a ball for all 3 games without either a drastic move or a change in equipment.
