I asked them basically the same thing yesterday and this is what they said...
------------
Many customers have said that they like using 1000 Abralon for the Revs and 4000 Abralon for the Finish because it gives them a reaction similar to the factory finish on both balls, but it seems to be a little more consistant...plus it is easier to duplicate after that, if needed.
With that being said, it should be noted that there really is no equivalent for Abralon to the box finish on the Revs or the Finish. At the factory, the Revs comes off the grinders at bout 220 grit and then compound is applied. This surface can be best duplicated by wet sanding the ball with 220 grit and then applying Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff according to the directions on the bottle. For the Finish, it comes off the grinders (again at about 220 grit) and compound is applied. From there it goes to the polishing station. To best duplicate this procedure, follow the steps above for the Revs, but then apply Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish.
