Mayhem reaction??
« on: January 30, 2004, 05:11:16 PM »
Ordered a Mayhem for a customer, anyone thrown one yet?  What does it look like?
What's the closest ball in your arsenal to this ball?  Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Rick

I have a team mate that has 2. He brought them to our sport league the weeks we had long oil. We have a different pattern every two weeks. He has med revs (300)and is pretty fast 17-18 mph at the pins. So it was hard to get a good look at what the ball is capable of. His have more yellow that the Rush. Both balls were still in box finish. He was getting a very early roll and even arc from them. I don't think there was enough oil for the ball with the box finish. They were a little stronger that his Freak.

Rick,
my driller, (king of the mill) on here, told me that the Mayhem is similar to a Phenom Unleashed in that it's a longer heavy oil ball.........it's supposed to be a little earlier and stronger than a PU

Very strong heavy oil ball, hooks all the way then almost a flip!

Of course these balls have a very strong mass bias and therefore are very drilling dependant.

Ones last night were about 1000 surface with high gloss.

Looked really good on medium to medium high shot.  Must be released level and clean and fast or they moved brooklyn fast!

Thanks again guys,

I ended up drilling a 4x3.25 mb, pin even with ring and close to val.  My customer has about a 325 rev rate but he throws it at about 19-20.  On heavy, he still had to slow down some or the ball didn't get to create enough friction.  Once he slowed down to about 18, the ball got into a very nice roll and finished very nicely.  Pretty nice ball, we've gone through almost every soft ball you could think of and layout to pull up because of his speed and this is one of the better ones.  Thanks for all your help...anytime I can return the gesture, feel free to contact me personally.
