Core hopes
« on: April 30, 2009, 11:53:49 PM »
I am certainly hoping the two new Releases will have new cores, the E-Z Rev is much to picky for me I just have a hard time matching to the conditions very shot specific when it is working it is great, but when it doesn't it seems like no amount of adjustment is good enough.

Just my thoughts after bowling last night

Two new releases? Sweet. I can finally switch over to MoRich now!

I've thrown the Nsane LevRG, and I'll have to agree with you. Very picky.

I love the Vanguard core, but the EZRev, not so much. Any change will be a welcomed one.

Vanguard is a definite favorite of mine. It seems that core and the way my flip rolls I can throw the ball anywhere and that ball carries.

IMHO, if Mo wants something a little more useful for the average house hack he needs to release a core that does a little better job of pushing down the lane.

The LevRG Solid was a step in the right direction for some, but I still miss the break point angularity of the Ravage.  That was a core that didn't overpower the cover as much as some of them do now.  In other words, they were more driller friendly...

Second that. I think the EasyRev core is a dead end, at least for a broad market. While it is nice to see what core technology can achieve, I have the feeling that it has become "l'art pour l'art" - very technical, mass bias for the sake of itself(?), but consequently less versatile. I have seen quite some disappointed faces around here with the EasyRev core - while the Vanguard core balls really made some impact among local bowlers.

I think the Solid LevRG is - with its tamer core design and PK18 coverstock - a VERY useful offer, and it would IMHO be nice if something similar (maybe as a second ball line) would appear in the future. Or a revival of the Multi-Density core from the Ravage/Sahara/Total Annihilation.

Well I have lost alot of faith in MoRich in the past year. Particularly this summer when I started giving AZO a Try they blow MoRich out of the water man. better hit better carry more angle on the pocket much better read what else can I ask.

I am not going to never throw MoRich again but his cores and covers gotta push down the lane better first like the Seek and Destroy, Shock and AWE, and the Awesome Line wasn't bad with it.

The Awesome line WAS awesome. Here's hoping for more Vanguard core balls, which I think push core dynamics as far as can be useful for most people on the lanes as they are today. Maybe in a few years when lane surfaces have caught up we'll be clamoring for the EZ Rev stuff again, which will then be $300 apiece on the collectors circuit

My Awesome Flip is the second best ball Ive ever owned(Agent Orange is SO much better IMO) but the awesome finish just didnt seem to trip 10s like I wanted very good length smooth into the pocket but good pin action just struggled to trip the 10 I guess I will need to pull it out again and see if I can get the carry to be a little better.

Hearing through the grape vine one of Mo's new releases coming will be the most angular MoRich ball to date. I can't quote the source as the person would be in some major trouble but it is slated for a summer release, closer to bowl expo more details will surface.

I saw the name Frenzy on a sales sheet at a pro shop and release date of something like July 15th.
