Drill Patterns, help....
« on: November 11, 2004, 03:28:37 AM »
I am going to be getting my first Morich ball soon.
My Ravage is on order and i recently looked at the
Morich Home page and came across the drill sheets.

I know Mo has layouts for 3 types of PAP ranges.

Just wondering if you Morich experts can shine some light and tell
me if the 3 drill patterns which are Control, Sharp Break Point and Forward
Roll are suppose to be for 3 conditions.

Is the Forward Lay out suppose to be for Heavy oil and is it a type of drilling
that makes the ball rev up fast and lose speed sooner down the lane to produce
forward roll?

Would a Control drilling be better for med to dry lanes by either putting the MB on your track or pass your val with the pin under your ring finger like Danny Wiseman was usuing in the masters?

Sorry for all the questions.

Drrev2000: Thanks for the advice and help. I will try the Ravage with the Control Drilling which i wanted for med to light. Then if i really like the Ravage i'll go try out the Total Annihilation and use the Sharp Hook Pattern.

Another question, how does your Ravage work on short oil patterns with flying back ends?

DO you think the Forward roll drill is better for a heavy carry down and dryer heads?

Cool. I just ordered an old Roto Grip Sonix X Pearl for those dry short patterns. Since it has a high RG and a very Low Differential it should work well.I'll keep that Ravage for Medium lanes with a Control Drilling. It sounds more reasonable to use for a variety of conditions. My frined has a TA drilled with the skid snap drill and you can see the ball start to flare right after it pass the arrows. Seems kind of wicked to use but it sure would help weaker hand players or spinners.

What do you think of the Mayhem? You think it too much of an aggressive ball since it's Partical? For a high track players, do you think a forward roll drilling would be better on medium to heavy oil instead of the skid snap drill? My dad currently has the Goliath from Brunswick and as you know it is a med rg ball with high partical. It rolls and arc. I'm thinking if a TA would give him a better finish.

My dad throws about 14mph. I have his Goliath drilled 4 x 2 which rolls early and arcs. With this drill it seems the ball sets up fast. I was thinking if the Forward Roll drill would do the same. Do you think he should get a TA instead which is agressive also but reactive? I heard the WMB is a better ball then the MAyhem. I talked to a guy who has tested the WMB already since he knows Mo Pinel.
