AFin comparison
« on: August 23, 2007, 10:09:43 PM »
I was just hoping a few of you could help with this ? of mine.  I have a AFin at the shop ready to put holes in I was just wondering how it compared to a vapor zone?  The VZ is drilled 5x4 pin above middle finger.  I was thinking of having the Afin below my vapor but I not sure how really strong this ball is.  Drilling wise the Morich drill request said drill 5 x 4 3/8 pin 2 1/8 above midline the problem I have with this is I would be drill into the pin with both fingers.  Let me know what you guru's think Thanks to all that reply.

What about drilling this monster "rico" pin in the palm?

Don't do it.  Rico most likely won't be a useful layout in a ball with this strong of a motor.

I'd go with the recommended layout and just tweak it by moving the pin into one of the fingers.  It's not going to make a remarkable difference.

IMO, the vapor is stronger on the backend than the flip. I find the flip earlier with less recovery but a stonger midlane than the Vapor. The MB in the flip is alot stronger than the vapor and this IMO makes the difference.

Drilled the same, you will IMHO see more length and less overall hook from the AFi compared to the VZ, but a sharper breakpoint. The AFi will also be suited for a little less oil than the VZ. The AFi has a surprising length, despite its low RG and solid PK18 cover. What I can tell from my AFi is that it can take a closer pin to PAP distance well. Since it goes so long and the core literally kicks in that late to turn the corner, some extra boards and a slightly earlier reaction is not wrong for the ball if you want to keep it polished.
