Hey guys I just thought I would let you know that I will trying dual angle layouts with Awesome Finish and LevrG if I like them I might plug and redrill some of my older gear with dual angle layouts also.

I will let you know how it goes I have a NIB Finish at the shop that will be first my Pro Shop will doing better PAP measurments.

My lowest combined angle is 94 deg. and it's on a WMB. I really want to try something in the 50-70 range with my new Archon. Hopefully it has a 4" pin on it.

One of the things I'm still stuck on with this new technique is what's the difference between a 20 deg./40 deg. layout and a 40 deg./20 deg. layout? What is the significance of the ratio between the first angle to the secondary angle?

A 20 degree/40 degree layout will rev sooner and have less backend than the 40/20 degree. The smaller the first number the earlier the ball will read the lane. the smaller the second number the flippier it will be

What I can gather of it from reading Lou Marquez posting about it on the PBA website is that the second number is more of a flare safe angle. Really high trackers like myself (PAP 5.5 or higher) should be in the 35* range for the VAL angle. Med to low trackers (PAP 5.5-4.25) should be in the 45 to 55* VAL angle. Mo has worked with both angles and came up with a way to categorize the balls as high and low response. The lower the combined number, the higher the response and vice versa. This is a good way to categorize an arsenal by response to friction on the lane which is the best way to build an arsenal for tournament bowling.
