Feedback on the LevRG
« on: September 11, 2007, 07:47:55 AM »
I was finally able to practice with this new ball on a fresh league oil pattern.  After the 1st game I was disapointed with the ball reaction.  Down and in was OK but opening up through the middle was extremely weak.  I had the pro shop operator put some black magic on the ball and shine it up.  Next game wasn't a much better reaction.  Back to the pro shop again and took a 500 grit abralon pad to the surface.  What a difference.  This ball is now an absolute monster.  I was throwing from the left 5 board deep through the middle out to the right 5 board and it absolutely exploded back to the pocket.  This ball is now as advertised.

I'm kind of confused by this post.  You had to sand it to 500 and cover 47 boards for the ball to be any good?  I don't think that's what Mo had in mind when designing it.  If it works for you then great, but you're going to be in the minority thinking that you have to wheel anything the whole lane in order to be impressed.

All I was trying to say is the OOB condition didn't work for me.  Neither did the polish.  Once I dulled up the ball it came alive to my satisfaction.

hey srbowler, i understand what you mean. i've had to do that with any morich ball ive had, but with no regrets. once you get it to where you want, morich is very tough to beat. im considering the levrg, but wanted more feedback first. thanks for the post
