Awesome Hook polished-Benchmark
« on: October 16, 2007, 12:53:30 AM »
Hey guys I need some advice, I have an AH with very few games on it no one will buy it cause everyone is afraid of MoRich around here so I have been thinking of hitting with some polish or Aboralon and making it more of a bench mark type of bowling ball.

What Finish would you guys recommend 1500 Abraoln? 1000 polish? Rough Buff with compund to make it get down the lane? Just want some Opinions.

Thanks for the help

I did not like my AH that much until I hit it with 1000 and polish. Finished second in a couple of tournaments with it and had 300 just after I did that!!

Don't get to use it much anymore though! Use LevRG, Revs and Finish pretty much everywhere!

What's wrong with it that you're trying to sell it?  And do you think that making it shiny and pretty will make people more likely to buy it?

The AH is pretty dull, 500-grit sanded.  If it's just too much ball, you could hit it with a light coat of polish and possibly end up with a strong medium to medium-heavy ball that virtually ignores carrydown.

I was leaving it in box finish to sell out but no one will touch it like I said around here if it doesn't say Storm or Ebonite on it no one wants it. I like the ball the way it is a true monster in every sense of the word but is never used and I would rather have it used by someone then just sit down stairs collecting dust. I really dont have a decent bench mark I just wanted to know how people have attacked similiar situations.

By the way do you wanna buy a 15 pound Awesome Hook with only 6 games on it?

I would love to buy it. What is the weight? Right or left drill? Plugged? Pictures. mwpsjp@yahoo.com

If you don'tsell it, try 1000 or 1200 grit. I only say that because of your high ball speed. I think the stock is actually 500 grit. If that is still too early, try 1500 or 2000 grit. If you want length and to reduce the backend without re-drilling (always an option and possibly a dramatic one with Mo's cores), try a "pore clogger" + polish, like Track's Delayed Reaction or Neo-Tac's Control-It or several other such products.
