Title: Got a question
Post by: VAbowler on October 25, 2005, 12:54:46 PM
I recently got a S&A plugged and redrilled w/pin about 1 inch up and right of ring finger, mb about 2 inches down and right of thumb, weight hole approx in between, this ball hits hard, but it's really over/under, either it breaks too early, or too late, leaving nasty stuff, a suggestion was to take some cover off to even out the reaction.  I want to know what that will really do, and will it sacrifice the great carry the ball delivers when it hits?

a friend of mine got this ball late last season, and after throwing it awhile, he had the same problem. we took it down to 1500 i think, made it start just a touch earlier, and he's never looked back. still carries great, but it's not nearly as touchy. i don't think it could hurt to try, sure didn't for him.

taking some surface off is always a great option....remember, it doesn't HAVE to be dull!  I have one of my Hercules at 2000 abralon ....it looks like it has a 'sheen' on it....but it doesn't ....just super smooth....

it makes the transition smoother and will read the lane a little sooner thus tapering the change of direction so it smooths it out...

do it !!

well i had it sanded to about 800 grit, man this thing is great now, it took about 1 1/2 games to break the track in, but after a bad 159, i went 235 and 237, this ball really opened up the area, especially on a synthetic shot, the entry angle is still awesome, thanks to the pro shop.  I still have to keep speed on it, but it's not over/under like it used to be, I know what to expect.
