oob surface of the awesome flip

I just got the AF and I like to keep a fresh surface on my stuff, but I don't really know what the oob surface is.  They say compound, and I've heard rough buff, but what is underneath.  I'm almost positive that it isn't the brunswick 220 + rough buff, as the AF is alot shinier than the Vapor Zone or Absolute inferno.  To most it would seem nothing more than polish, but, I've tried rough buff on top of higher grits and it gives a similar look.  My guess would be 800 grit + rough buff.  Is this correct?

I dont know the grit, but compound finish is like ruff buff but without the polish in it at all.

This wouldnt be a ball you would want to switch to if you have a S&A and theres to much oil out there for it. the only diffrence on the coverstock is it doesnt come out of the box with a polish like the S&A but still the same coverstock. If you want something for more oil and want it to be Mo, then get a Seek And Destory. The Total Shock And Awe could handle just a LITTLE bit more oil but the diffrence to me is carry my Seek And Destory just demolishes the rack, and my Total leaves me alot of flat tens.

Do you mean that the coverstock finish is different on
the AF vs S&A? According to Morich site it is the same, no? Compound.

WTF, I know your trying to help but what is that jjlamoroso, but I have no clue what your saying.  I'm basically saying that I believe the Awesome Flip is at a higher grit than the S&A or the Brunswick balls with rough buff.  Does anyone know exactly what the oob finish of the AF is?

Sorry for my precedent post that was not clear,
english is not my native language.
What I was trying to say was that:
-According to Morich, both balls have the same
finish, xxx grit+compound (Rough buff).
-According to you, Ballsdeep, the AF seems to look
 shinier than the other rough buffed balls.
-According to HXC Bowler it is the contrary.

If that is not confused...

My father just got an AF and the OOB finish is quite a bit duller than the OOB finish on the S&A

Thanks, I wasn't aware of english not being your primary language, jjilamorso, I'm sorry.  When the S&A came out, I heard some say that there were differences in the oob finish, just with that one ball.  Some would appear dull like 2000 grit abralon, while others appeared polished, kind of like my AF.  This being said I have never seen either a S&A or an AF that looks as dull as the brunswick rough buff counterparts.  I'll try green pad and rough buff, unless anyone has any other suggestions/info.  Thanks everybody.

OOB from morichbowling.com says compound. Guessing since it has a duller look (meaning not shiny) guess it is probably close to a 800-1200 grit with a compound added on top). I took mine to 2000 Abralon and it looked very similar and added a slight hit of rough buff. Will have a pic posted soon in my profile.

Thats interesting.  I still think that the finish is higher than 220 grit and rough buff, but thats my opinion.  I'll take a picture of mine now and then take it to green pad, 600 grit and then rough buff and post my results.  Thanks for all the replies

I asked MoRich some time ago for the surface of the S&A, and since it is the same as the AF, here the information I received:
S&A is NOT Rough Buff, they use a rubbbing compound. The fisnish is in between polish and Rough Buff, and you can "simulate" it witha a 600 grit base finish (Green pad) and then apply Brunswick's Rough Buff and adding a little water to it. The pure stuff is a bit too much/coarse for the MoRich OOB finish.
