Title: Have a S&A, should I get WMB or TS&A
Post by: Law on September 26, 2005, 12:45:37 PM
I currently have a S&A that MO helped me punch up with 1000 abralon surface with my TW pitched 1/4 to the side.  I'm looking for something about 3 boards stronger, what's my best alternative?

Thanks.

I should add that I bowl on synthetic lanes that are extremely dirty. The lanes are generally medium-medium heavy.  Everytime I clean my ball after league it would basically turn a paper towel black.

Thanks for the responses thus far.  I was leaning heavily towards the TS&A until I read how strong it is, that's why I factored the WMB back.  I really like the Vanguard core, much more than the Ravage/Sahara core.

I'm guessing I should probably bring the surface up to 1000 abralon since the OOB is 400 and will probably be far too strong.  Correct?

depends on the conditions and how you throw the ball..etc

Jeff,

I mentioned the conditions in an earlier post - medium to medium heavy synthetics that are extremely dirty.  You wouldn't believe how dirty my ball gets after 3 games.  Talk about grime.

My A game has me standing on about the 27 and throwing out to 8.  I can adjust either way but my S&A just doesn't seem to match up properly with the lanes, be it I move further in or further out.

Law...my comment was regarding this statement by you:

I'd agree....that would be a good place to start,...but depends on your conditions....but now that I've seen that....I agree...start there.....

The reaction of the WMB is nothing to see...but the HIT IS.

It is an impressive carry machine.

The Shock and Awe has a much more exciting move.  But also a great hit!

Both are impressive pieces on medium heavy oil!

PS many of the bowlers I know using the TSA have added polish.  But your oil volume will determine that.

Thanks for everyones advice.

I picked up a TS&A at the beginning of last week from Billy Ray and used it in league for the first time last night.  Boy was that ball hitting hard.

Even though its a heavy oil ball, it worked out perfect in my league until the 3rd game until it stopped looking.  I figured I was tired and not putting as much hand in there so I just passed it off as learning woes.

Then I got home and cleaned the ball.  It usually takes me 2 paper towels to clean a ball.  It must have taken about 8 with the amount of dirt I took off that ball.  The first towel was black after cleaning about 1/16th of the ball, so in no way am I blaming the ball, the alley needs to do something about its lanes!
