Sahara advice ....
« on: July 09, 2007, 04:55:32 AM »
I picked up a Sahara with good specs and could some of you
previous or current owners could chime in and tell me about the
characteristics of the ball. I haeard it was stronger than advertised,
yet I bought it for drier lanes. Any thoughts on layouts and the
gerneral traits of this ball.

Thanks,

Dan K.

Can be used for light oil and sometimes medium light. I have mine drilled with the Super Symmetrical lay-out. Best tournament ball in my bags. Gets effortless length and is so controllable at the breakpoint.

I've actually used this on heavy oil at times because of its strong backend.

Lots of length AND lots of backend!  Its a hitter and it sure is PURTY!

I have mine for sale!

Naturally drilled for the PROPER hand!

Great ball for medium to medium-dry, but not for toasted lanes. Even though it uses Brunswick's Punisher coverstock, the Mo core gives a totally (and IMHO better) look on the lane. With polish, the cover has clear limits concerning the amount of oil the ball can handle.

For many details, check my lengthy review on this piece:
http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ManufacterID=16&BallID=644&ReviewID=25323

There's also a short video (with lots of loft on la lane that was already too dry for the ball): 2.000 grit Abralon, polished, pin 4.5" stacked above ring
6MB video Mar. '07

Hope it helps a bit?

Its not a good ball for dry unless you are a fluffer, a bigtime spinner, or you drill the ball about as weak as possible (of course you can do that with any ball almost to work on dry). If you have any hand at all, it will be good for medium/light to a medium/heavy ball with clean backends.
