How does the Total shock and awe compare?

I am wondering how it the "total Shock and Awe" might compare to the other heavy oil balls out right now? For example, the Track GP2, Hammer Hawg, Strom Trifecta, Columbia EPX T1, AMF Terminal Velocity, Ebonite XXXcel, etc.

The way it compares is that 99% of the people who buy one will try to use it on a house shot where they should be using a highly polished resin or resin pearl.

There are VERY rare tournaments where the host swill lay down enough oil to use any one of the above balls. They are special use balls but people will assume they can get more hook and hitting power and they will BE DEAD WRONG!

Save your money and buy a Nemesis or an RS-X or a Slash and raise your average 20 pins with sane use of the right ball.

I guess I made the correct choice then!!!!! I am Arsenal building and I bought one for that rare and extreme condition. I know better than to throw it on a house of league shot!!! I was looking for a ball that would best handle the nastiest of lanes and the guy in the pro shop recomended it to me.

Didn't intend to be insulting, which is the way many people take that reply. There's been so very many people who just look for pin killing power and then don't get it and are shocked and annoyed. Glad you took it the right way.

Those are special purpose balls; use them on the heavy oil for which they are intended and you'll be rewarded. Recognizing that condition is a special talent in itself. Good Luck!

It is an awesome all around medium heavy oil ball!

If you have high speed it can be used on low volume medium long patterns.

This thing revs up so fast!!!

Nothing compares to this ball. This thing is just RAW POWER! Yes, I know it hooks off the lane on a THS, but it also allows me to play lines I normally can't play with my wimpy rev rate.

It does handle heavy stuff, I bowl on a modified PBA shot league and last week's pattern was 41' of the heavy stuff (very close to the Shark pattern). Nothing was playable to the outside, not the case with this ball.  I could cut through the oil and yet still had some backend bounce.

Also since there is no particle in this ball...it can be used with polish and used on mediums also!

Nice initial reply, lol. I just punched up a Total S&A for when I encounter truly heavy soup. Since I don't like trying to play 6th arrow, I have not been able to use it yet. A guy I bowled with (notorious for buying balls,  using them for 2 games and then selling them) punched one up a few days after me and has already sold it. You see, for some reason the ball did not want to hook when he threw it up the bone dry 2 board of our THS. It couldn't have been losing energy now, could it?

I just drilled up a TSA.  First reaction was it hooked at my feet and stopped at the backend.  Put it on the spinner and brought the surface to 1000 and then applied Track magic shine.  The ball went very long but still stopped at the backend.  Brought it back to 1000 with no polish and it moved at the midlane, but still stopped at the backend.  This ball was drilled according to the proposed layouts in the box for a lower track with a strong backend reaction.

Now I also drilled out a xxxcel.  This ball reacted like a truck.  It rolled up strong and had a real good finish.  In practice, I used both balls and the best one was the XXXcel.  The TSA was basically a dud.

I talked to a Morich rep and he said the pin/mb to pap is extremely important in making these balls work.  I did follow the drill instructions and the distance was according to the specs.

My opinion, buy the xxxcel.

hey stan did you notice the other replies that said the ball needs oil , one thing i have learned is that particle or dull balls in the hands of low speed low rev players on ths are not the duds its the people trying to use them on these ths nights after almost a grand and loosing pins weekly i decide resin and reactive balls are the best for me and probably you too for the shots you see if you buy a total or any other heavy oil ball either only take it out when you get no movement from your resin or reactive or take your own oil to the alley
