is morich in trouble
« on: April 05, 2009, 09:49:37 AM »
was in my pro shop the other day, and the proprietor told me that brunswick no longer wanted to produce morich balls.  That I should switch to another brand, or expand as they may not be around.  I order all of my balls from him, so he makes the profit.  Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Wouldn't that be ironic ...

Phil Cardinale, who used to poke fun at Mo's stuff, now doing his covers ...

Irony can be pretty ironic ,...can't it ?!

Well Im a big storm fan too but face it the cores dont rev up like Mos stuff and I think that is one thing that DOES help WRW if he had another company I dont think the ball would rev up as well for his style to get a good angle to the pocket. Also I dont think it matters what cover you stick on MOs stuff it will do what a good bowler would need it to. Heck angular Mo stuff has always been a personal favorite(awesome flip and although not flippy the awesome finish is also up there smooth ball with all the recovery I could ask for).

I too, like the Vanguard over the EZ Rev core. I just hope someone picks MoRich up. Considering the mislabeled specs and poured pins, a move may not be a bad thing.

Maybe they move to 900Global, I may be wrong but didnt C300 pour there first couple balls?

Heard from some brunswick ball staffers both pro shop and regional that their sales rep had informed them that their balls might start having new shells, made just a TAD further north of the border.

A tad bit north of the border might be San Antonio.

Didn't Lane 1 have problems with Brunswick mis marking CGs?

All,
The last info I have is a certain corporate entity is looking to sell their brand name rights. A couple of companies were approached about buying the brand name. One of the companies was interested and is trying to put together the financials. Again, this is what I heard.....

The company putting together the financials in my opinion doesn't have the capacity to produce a new line of business. Will they outsource this to another manufacture. May be Maybe not. Who knows at this point

Did Phil's group purchase the rights to this brand. If so, it would be news to me. I would like to see it.

I just know an announcement will be coming in the 30-60 days.

Have a great evening

Interesting reading, I've had a few discussions within this topic, the slower summer months would be the correct time to revamp a line, retool and ship product to a new mfger's plant for new releases coninsiding with Bowl Expo for releases just prior to fall league season. If I heard correctly Mo's contract was up after the Response with Brunswick.

Don't know what this means, but on the Home page on the Morich website under
Requests, they removed the 'Drilling Layout' page.

If something happens where someone else is pouring Mo's stuff,...their drilling stuff won't change.  I'm sure it's just tweaks to the page.

Well MO has always been a poineer in the field of core design. However phil and him have not always seen eye to eye, and i dont know if personal feelings would fall into play when it comes to a business decision like that.

Don't know if this is related to the OP, however, I have submitted two drilling requests approximately one month ago, and have never received a response.  I've asked questions before via the website and received a response quite quickly.
