MoRich fitting system
« on: November 30, 2003, 05:23:02 AM »
hey there.  I am a new ball driller, and i was wondering what you all thought of the morich fitting system.  i have been studying the Bill Taylor drilling book, and morich is the only system i have seen that has the thumb lateral pitch scale in it.  my friend and i are in the process of making/designing our own, but i am still looking for input on the system...

Pics would be great if you have them.

Morich Fitting System?  Taylor methods?

Your post was rather confusing, you are studying the Morich System or the Taylor method, or both and comparing?

Where do you find the MoRich system?

Morich has a fitting system. It is on the www.Morichbowling.com website. It comes with 4 tubes, and a fitting ball, and a fully illustrated manual.

its not that its different.  in the Bill Taylor book i am learning from, he describes a measuring tool that measures thumb lateral pitch.  in searching for equiptment for my pro shop, the morich system is the only place i have seen this measuring tool.  i just wanted more info and a better picture of it before i consider buying it.

Where were you?  Where are you now?

What does this system base it's concept on that it ends up with dramatically different pitches?

Lefty......Mo's fitting system pretty much uses Taylor's methods.....including the coke bottle....only he uses a clear cylinder

Something that too few bowlers do is to have their fit checked from time to time, and as we age, our joints loose flexibility. I found out the hard way
We had to change pitches in both fingers, and thumb, then make a MINOR span change. What a difference. It had been a long time since I was actually checked, I just kept getting the "same" drill.

hey logan.... glad to see another Somoff employee on here besides me and corey... hows it going up north...

I just got done putting on a clinic with MO and Fred Mattson in my center. Besides on being one of the smartest people ive ever met he's one of the most adaptable people ive seen coach the game.
He has given Myself and a few other SOMOFF employee's a new light on fitting and drilling. Even though we were already the dominant Chain of Pro Shops in the I-5 corridor in washington we are just that much better now. It was a real pleasure working with MO. Anyone that doesnt have a fit like this is really missing out on not only comofortability but the ability to repeat shots with complete and total ease... not the slightest difference in feel.

theres my book... see ya later logan

I was not thrilled with the new "MO" fit. The ball felt heavy and my thumb hurt after 1 game.  I told him not to change the length of my span as my regular pro-shop guy and I had experimented with a longer span and it did not work.  He lengthened the span of my index finger and put a forward pitch on thumb.  Supposedly to keep me from coming over on top of the ball.  I think I'd rather have the ball fit comfortably and practice more onmy release.

all im saying is either he did something horribly wrong which i seriously doubt... or part of your swing hinders the new fit from being able to compliment your swing... sorry for the bash in the last post... no serious slander intended... what i was saying is ive known him for 2 years now and he has never missed a fit that ive seen... but ive only seen like 2 or 3 hundred fits that he's done...
if you ever need help with your game come see the man... T. WEBB!!!.... the doc or myself...
if you see the doc... make sure you make an appointment for a checkup!!
