Labyrinth question
« on: July 14, 2004, 12:47:03 AM »
I have a NIB ball that I looking to drill. Can anyone tell me about this ball? What kind of reaction and shape can I expect from it in general. Not looking to do anything exotic with it, just a simple control layout. I've heard different things about adjusting the surface as well and I'm wondering how versatile the cover is. Any info in general would be appreciated.

I had one a while back, Ken.
One of the Morich guys at Reno drilled it for me (might have been Fred Carrol, but at that time I didn't know who was whom.) ANyway, he drilled it strong for my release and track and I used it very well on a medium-heavy oil pattern. It had great midlane control and revs, and never flipped, yet always hit strong, as long I was somewhere "in the ball park" with speed, target and release.

The cover is an older Morich one from Columbia so it needs a little extra care. (I didn't know at better at that time, 2000/2001, and mine died a typical, uncared-for death). Clean it regularly and touch it up once in a while and it should last better than mine.

I'd strongly recommend leaving it matte or dulling it necessary. Polish did not seem to work well on mine. Maybe because it's meant for heavier oils. I'm not sure.
