LevRG and NSane LevRG
« on: March 17, 2008, 11:01:17 AM »
I'm new to Morich equipment, so pardon me if this question seems a bit naive.  I just bought and drilled up a LevRG (4x4 pin under) and LevRG (strong break point).  Both balls are OOB surfaces.
Fact is, I'm having a bit of difficulty achieving any serious ball motion.  Granted, I don't have a lot of hand and a lot of speed, but somehow I expected them to do more.  I should add that the houses I generally bowl in don't put down a lot of oil.
And that leads me to the question:  do these balls simply need a lot of oil to roll as they were intended to?  In other words, is a lack of oil more detrimental to these two balls than to other asymetrics by other companies?

Well i don't think that oil is going to make a difference. I have both of the balls and the more oil the less hook, the less oil the more hook.

I think the biggest thing is that you can't just use a standard layout on Morich balls. It just doesn't work for these balls. I mean it could be just the conditions are not right but I doubt it, I've thrown mine on every PBA shot and on a 40' fresh house shot to a 40' dry house shot. Post some pics of the layouts and your stats. Someone then may can help determine what the deal is.

Thanks Inverted.  That was what I was afraid of.  But, I'll carry them with me nonetheless; you never know when you might strike oil!

Thanks, too, NicholasE.  Maybe there's hope yet.

Evening Sun, you might want to try changing the surface a little. Mo's equipment takes adjustments very easily and sometimes that is what you need to do to acheive the reaction that you are looking for.

But both the 'NSANE and LevRG are very aggressive balls, so you might be correct with the lack of oil. I know that if I encounter a drier condition or broken down, I leave them right in the bag.

Thanks, Bowl.  Indeed, my idea was to try 2000 Abralon on the LevRG and adding some polish to the NSane.  If that doesn't work, then I would take them another step up with Abralon and polish.
