Title: LevRG to be angular
Post by: mainzer on December 25, 2008, 12:17:07 AM
How would you set a LevRG up to be angular? I am debating just picking up a new LevRG or just waiting to see if MO comes out with a more angular solid reactive soon.

Small sum of the dual angles with a larger drilling angle versus the angle to the VAL should get you what you're looking for.  Better get a long pin with low top though...

That's a 20x4.5"x20 for me and the ball absolutely looks like it's kicked to the left at the breakpoint.

Mo seems to usually put the pin closer to the Val (1.5" - 2") while keeping a strong pin-PAP distance. Mb can be in several locations, most closer to the VAL (1-3").

Then there's the normal "Sharp" breakpoint in his standard drillings that come with the ball: Pin around 4" from PAP, around 2" above the midline, MB around 4" from the PAP. Recently he has used the Dual Angle specifications. I can't translate the generic specs to the Dual Angle.

The more oil you have, the less angular most people want the ball. I have always gotten the feeling that Mo likes the opposite: a more angular drilling for more oil.

With your high rev rate, and high ball speed, I think you might need a closer MB position and a sharper drill angle. Have you looked at their website? There's a ton of info about all this there, like really a lot.
