Motion hole drilling

This question is related to a Motion Hole drilling and the weight loss effect of a 5 ounce weight loss of a 16 pound ball as compared to that of a 5 ounce weight loss for a 14 ounce ball.
I have seen two videos on the drilling of the motion hole, one from Canada and the other through drillmyball.com.  Neither of these provide the weight of the ball that was drilled.  I feel that the ball weight must be critical because with a weight hole of 1-1/8 " X 4 " deep, coupled with the increased depth of the finger holes, there is about 5 ouces less of ball to knock down pins.  My 14 pound ball with a motion hole now weighs 13 lbs 12 oz and is a little timid about taking out the ten pin. It only stands to reason that a 16 pound ball will suffer less because of the weight loss that the 14 pound ball.  Can someone provide an answer for this?

By percentage, the amount of weight taken out of the 14# ball is greater than that of the 16 if both have 5 oz taken out in your example. A heavier weight may or may not be more effective depending on the rev rate, ball speed, axis tilt, surface...(many factors here)

One thing you may be overlooking in your ball is that the weight/motion hole may also be changing the angle and roll to the pocket. That may be what you are seeing in terms of the ten pin carry.

That 5 oz you're concerned with is from removing weight by adding a thumb hole, two finger holes, and a weight hole, correct?  Any concern you have about less mass should be counter acted by the increased dynamics added by the weight hole.  Leaving an extra ten pin now and then would be very hard to blame on ~2.5 oz of mass removed.  The Motion Hole is supposed to make the ball get down lane a little easier and flare more after the mid lane.  You might just need to add a little surface to get the ball to the pocked a little sooner.

All the motion hole does is change the immediate differential of the ball giving you more backend. I had a Yeti w/ the motion hole and that things was a beast on THS.
