PLEASE HELP WITH ARSENAL
« on: June 10, 2005, 10:32:46 AM »
I am a high reving player with a short backswing and about 15 or 16 mph, I throw 15 pounds and use inserts.
Heavy Oil: Total Annihilation- Pin under ring finger, Weight hole out directly to the right of the thumb hole,good ball but may be looking for something else here.
Medium/ Heavy Oil: Shock and Awe- Pin under middle finger weight hole is about an inch to the right and is between the thumb and fingers, very angular laid out by Mo Pinel.
Medium/ Benchmark: Ravage- Pin to the right of the ring finger, no weight hole, Favorite ball by far so versatile, can play skid/ snap or aching depending on pattern.
Light Oil: I need something here, maybe sahara???
Spare Ball: Target Zone- Goes straight like anyother plastic ball should.

Please help me out here I'm getting ready for some big tourneys.

Thanks;
Tom

Well I was thinkin I'd compare it to the total s&A but the WMB is a possibility.

it is supposed to be a good ball on dry so yes ... but the Desert Heat from Track is also a good dry lane ball.

Knowing Mo equiptment, the Sahara will not be a true dry lane ball.  With a strong assymetrical core and a pearl cover, the ball will be snappy on the back.  It should be great on medium/light oil, but on true dry, the Dry/R is a better choice.  But also, assess how dry the dryest lane you will see are going to be.  If you never see true burn, then go with the Sahara.  If you want an almost spare straight ball, that will get limited use, go with the Dry/R.

Urethane HARDLY EVER works on dry.  Rolls too early, doesn't push.  Weak Weak pearl resin cover would probaly be best on a core with low diff.

Dry is a relative term at best. What you perceive as dry my be med light to another. As stated before Mo's stuff is under rated in my opinion, I can cover more boards with his equipment than I can with comparable equipment drilled the say way. The S&A is a prime example matched with the AB Inferno, it is 4-5 boards stronger. If you are bowling on a truly dry shot based on previous Mo equipment the Sarhara is probably going to be too strong. No one will know until it is released, at this point we are playing a guessing game. I would tend to lean towards the Dry/R or the Dry Heat from Track as well. A ball I use on "Dry" conditions is the Columbia Trooper, pearlized urethane.

filling the gap between the Ravage and spare ball......I'd go with the Sahara!!!

If you don't see a bunch of "heavy oil" stick with what you have.....or, if you do you can get the WMB...wait for the TSA which while isn't particle is supposed to be very ....OR...............................................
