With the prices at buddies, you would have to buy one and charge $80 for drilling. Unless you are paying $40 more from the distributor (assuming you charge $15-20 more regularly), you're still charging more than $60 for drilling.

Maybe its just me, but i don't find it financially feesible to pay $250 for a bowling ball.

KOTM is my driller...and you have to look at it in a different perspective.
You know that old saying "you get what you pay for" ?  Well, this is a perfect example of that holding totally 100% true!

What you're paying for is EXPERTISE! And let me tell you something...KOTM has FORGOTTEN more about ball drilling and ball tech than most of us on this board know COMBINED!  So you're paying for the service you receive, + his expertise which is second to NONE !

On the downside, it's not his shop, so he doesn't dictate pricing, the owner does. Personally....YES,..I think it's worth the price for the service and expertise you get/ receive...but at the same time I think the owner of the place is pushing it a little with these prices....(caveat: this has NO bearing on KOTM whatsoever....no offense bud, you know how I feel, we've talked about it before )

KOTM has been drilling my stuff for a year and a half, and I've only purchased 2 brand new balls from his shop (Animal / WMB).  Everything else has been stuff I've either traded for, or puchased elsewhere. Does he care,...NOPE, as long as he can punch them, he's fine.  I can't imagine going anywhere else!

I can't afford to buy 3 or 4 balls from that shop either.....that's why I'll get them elsewhere and bring them in.  Not sure if the owner likes it that much, but he better not mind, because I'm still bringing in business!

Do I think the prices are too high ?  YES I DO
Do I think it's worth it at the end of the day? YES I DO
Do I think that KOTM's expertise is worth it ? ABSO-FRIGGIN-Lutely!!

Also..... $243 for a brand new high end Mo ball, with Mo being there and KOTM drilling it ? That's worth it.....(I can't afford buying an arsenal like that) but for ONE ball....oh yeah!

Reminds me of an incident that happened a few years back.

Won't go into all the details .. but .. It was uncovered that a US AGENT was paying $5,000 for toilet seats!

Who would question a US AGENT!

Don't know WHY this incident reminded me of that!

As with all of us, especially you funky drillers out there,
Don't let Mo get distracted  or start dealing with 6-8-10 people at the same time. He did that by us, and his "normalcy" was revealed.

The reason they have to charge so much at The Right Approach is because the pro shop has to pay for Mo's bar tab while he is there.

As always, "You're a good man, Charlie Brown!".
Our pro shop guy didn't have the foresight (or hutzpah) to keep Mo from "getting distracted". In addition to trying to handle 6 bowlers at the same time, Mo was always on his cell phone with MoRich headquarters dealing with validation and discounts for large orders of balls, while ogling Marianne DiRupo in shorts (no matter where he could get). Small wonder I got like 10 seconds of his time.

I have heard a lot of people talk about the prices being to high, so I thought I would add my thoughts as to why I have no problem buying a ball from there.  I have known KOTM, for around 20 years.  I have been bowling on and off since 85.  I really do not have the experience that a lot of the bowlers my age have, I am 36.  Since I have been bowling, I have only gone to this shop.  When I started to really get into the game, KOTM, the owner, and his Mom would always come out and coach me, when they had free time. Right there is worth the price of the ball, especially with the owner's Mom being in just about every bowling Hall of Fame there is.  They did not have to do it, but they knew that I wanted to really improve and they wanted to really help me.  They did teach me the game, and over the years I have made very big improvements.  KOTM, this past year, convinced me to try a shorter span and taught me how to be able to focus myself better. Since November of 2004 to this past April, my average has gone up 30 plus pins, 204 in one league and 210 in my other league.  I do buy a lot of balls from the shop, and I have to say that I have won at least double the money that I spent on the ball. When I get a new ball I always tell him that there is no rush to get it drilled, whenever he can get to it is fine with me because I know he is always busy, but he always has it ready for me at least a day before my league/tournament.  I know that I would not be where I am today if it was not for KOTM, the owner and his Mom, and I would like to thank the three of them for all they have done for me.

Good to use this name again KOTM
