Nsane levRG help......cover question
« on: November 29, 2007, 07:00:59 AM »
My nsane got stuck in the pit in league last night now i have light surface scratches swirling the entire ball wouldnt take to counter to have then resurface cause the idiotrunning the proshop in that house i would not let him touch an alley ball if i had one.  I have a spinner and i do resurfacing but i cant find on the morich site what the nsane is at factory wise i know it says 4000 but i need to know how they go about getting there is their 4000 like 1000 grit and then a polish over top of that to make it 4000 or do they sand to 4000 and then put polish over it.  It still rolls great but looks like crap and i will not throw anything that looks like crap.  Need surface prep specs on insane so i can get this done i love the way it rolls and want it to do the same when i get done.  please help

It is my understanding that the surface is 4000 abralon no polish. Use as rough a grit as necessary to get the scratches out, then smoother and smoother until you get to 4000.

Abralon has pads that go from 180 grit to 360 grit to 500 grit to 1000 grit to 2000 to 4000 grit. Use what yo have to smooth the surface from the scratches; then use the rest to get back to the stock 4000 grit surface.

thanks for the responses, i was just having a hard time believing it was 4000 abralon sanded it looked likeit had a compond or light polish on it oob is all but i got all scratches out and returned it to 4000 before league tonight and it rolled the same and i shot 771 269,279,223 headsbroke downbut i couldnt switch balls so i tried to force it lesson learned i have shot four series with this ball in my leagues since i got it 765,753,714, and now 771 this ball is absolutely amazing on house shots.

Home-made 4.000 Abralon tends to look more dull than the machine-polished OOB finish. Anyway, after some games the dull appearance fades away and you'll be pretty close to the original.
If you want an even finer surface, you can hit the 4.000 surface with 3M "Finesse It" Trizact compound, which will give you a glossy surface without polish, but better traction.
