Pioneer mini review
« on: November 05, 2003, 12:27:35 AM »
Got a chance to drill up my Pioneer lastnight. Some may think I am nuts, but this is by far the best MoRich ball I have used.

It is very condition specific (drilled pin 4.5in and MB 4 in. from PAP). In no way should this ball be used on oil. It will skate forever if you try to use it when it is not really supposed to be. Since I drilled it lastnight, I decided I was going to use, no matter what was on the lanes. I shot a respectable 620 set, but I know if I would have used a ball with more UMPH I would have been close to 700.

Now on to the ball on the lanes. This thing has great backend. In my opinion it is THE ball for bowlers who like to have the skid/snap reaction. I think I got that reaction simply because I was using it heavy oil (45ft). The Pioneer SMACKS the pins. I got good hit using it on oil, so I know it will hit well with dry backends. I can only compare the HIT on this ball to the HIT of the Red Brimstone Monster. It hits good, not everly hard. But the pins fly sideways creating tremendous carry.

Overall, SO FAR, this ball is a bargain. If you bowl on shorter patterns and have flying backends, you need this ball. I am just sorry I waited so long to try it out.

Most of Mo Pinel's designed balls are hidden treasures: 3D Offset, Truck, XS, Labyrinth, Hercules, Onslaught. Rarely do they becomes well known like the 3D Offset.

I just drilled a Hercules and am amazed with only 3-4 games on it so far. It's downright spooky or can be (in a positive way). Can only use it at one house so far; we'll see how good it is soon.
