Morich Sahara - WOW!
« on: February 20, 2008, 04:21:50 AM »
I cannot believe how much ball this is.  It is one of biggest hooking balls I have recently thrown.  What do you guys suggest I do to tame it down.  I used the controlled drill pattern.  I have medium revs, slower speed, and a high track.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You

Changing your release to have more axis rotation will promote the ball to skid farther down the lane. Pretty much just come around the side of the ball more and it will go longer. Surface is about as shiny as it will go.

Thanks for the advice.  I was thinking of adding some polish and taking the surface up, but it may already be at 4000.  I dont know?  Does anyone else have some advice.  Thanks

My Sahara is 4000 abralon with 4 coats of Magic Shine, still a nice move on the correct conditions. Like as was stated - nothing above medium/light.

Anyone who thinks this is a dry lane is either a fluffer, spinner, speed dominant, or they neutered theirs with a weaker than all get out drilling. Its a great ball for medium light to medium heavy for some players though, medium light to medium for most people. Its a good all around ball for anything but the extremes. Yes, it hooks a fair amount. Oh, last one I had (and I have had a few of them) was OOB with a medium drilling on it. I needed medium to medium heavy oil for it.

IIRC, this cover is the same as the cover on the Power grooves. When I first threw one of those on a fresh medium, It floored me with how many boards it covered. Must be something about the cover???? I was covering the lane with it.

Well I think with Morich, most of his balls are pretty rolly and I'm just thinking that maybe the core is doing a lot of the work to get it heading in the right direction then when the cover finally finds the dry it makes an even harder move.

The Sahara that I had turned at about 30ft and then kind of went straight from there to the pins. It wasn't my favorite reaction but that was on medium to medium heavy. When I put it on a dry lane I was sliding into the left gutter tossing out to the 10-5 board range and destroying the pins.

But for me the ball was a little condition specific and the condition that it worked on, I never seen around here. The only time I used it was when I bowled at a place out of state and it just lit it up there.
