Need insight on Colossus Supreme
« on: April 25, 2005, 05:32:33 AM »
I just picked one up and was looking for a little RECENT insight. Is the ball really as strong as stated. I currently have a Hammer Vicious Particle at 400 grit and a Track Freak at $600 grit finished with Track Clean and Dull. The Vicious is drilled stacked leverage # 3/8 x 3 3/8 and the freak is drilled Pin just to right of fingers and CG out slightly at about 4:30. WIll this ball outperform these two when it comes to heavy heavy oil or should I attempt to drill it a little tamer to handle the medium patterns with moderate carrydown. If so, how will it habdle this and will it get through spotty lanes. Keep in mind that I can play anywhere with several different hand positions and releases. Thanks for any input.

Charles,

I have had three of these. The one I have now is drilled with the pin to the right of the ring finger the cg in the palm and the mb to the left of the thumb. This ball will hook on glass, it gives me a continuous arc with Great carry..but be aware this ball is very strong. For me it is alot stronger that my WMB.

Mine is drilled very similar to 7-year's ball. Strong early roll and I get a more  hook-set reaction with the MB was left of the thumb. Excellent control ball on heavy oil for me.

Thanks Bob....I kind of thought that wouldbe the acse. I may readjust some coverstocks on other balls (ex: Freak or Vicious Particle) to use for carrydown situations. I figured the Colossus Supreme to be the heavy oiler when the Vicious or Freak didn't react as needed.
