Never thought this would happen
« on: August 10, 2009, 12:25:45 AM »
I am only using MoRich gear for drier lane conditions. I have a Ravage VII and MoJave punched up and they see almost all the action. My Finish has left the box once since it has been redrilled two months ago my Hercules is still my bench mark, but I switch away from it much more often than staying with it.

I find this werid, only a few months ago I backed MoRich all the way. Know I barley even looked at the site when Frenzy came out. The LevRG line killed me, I had a crap reaction with all them except the Nsane. Couldn't get any carry, had no area at all on the lane. After many years of support I have gone (at least for know) in another direction.

mainzer,

If it means anything to you, I wanted one of the Lev-RG balls as soon as they came out.  Finally got my hands on one, and it was the biggest disappointment I've had in recent bowling memory.

I eventually had it drilled in three different patterns, NONE of which worked for me.  My friends could throw it and get some hook, but this thing went straight, then died on the backends when I tried, no matter the drilling pattern or the surface finish ( I also tried everything from 500 ab to 4000 polished ).

I had thrown a Mo-rich before, but it was an older ball (Minotaur), with good results, but that Lev-Rg soured me to anything Mo-Rich.

Yeah, I know the feeling. After Dynothane went the way of the dodo bird I began surfing for a line of balls since I was very loyal to their stuff.

I tried most companies and bought many balls that were the same as the other ones in my bag.  It turned out that MoRich was one of my least favorites.  Had a few balls drilled and they always seemed to roll end over end when reaching the pocket.  That really reduced my carry and left me frustrated.

Currently I have one Ebonite, two Rotogrips, one Elite and one Lane #1.  I really like the Lane #1 and due to its versatility I use it quite a bit.  However, I think I may go more towards Ebonite.  Their balls seem to carry quite a bit more than anything else I have.

Good luck on your journey.

I have a Nsane,Revs and flip and love them all.I'm picking up a finish to see if I can shoe horn it in there.the only ball I had a love/hate relationship with was the LevRg.I think the secret to these EZ rev cores are to drill the pin at least 5" from pap and use them on oil.the van cores on the other hand can be drilled a tad bit stronger and are less condition specific.

Same here.  I had the LevRg, N'Sane, N'Tense, and all three rolled like crap for me.  I am not even considering the Frenzy.

The Frenzy is a lot different than the LevRG balls.  Seems to be a lot more 'driller' friendly.  I also had some issues with the LevRG line, but so far the Frenzy seems different. Not quite the big flip ball of some companies, but a lot closer to some.  Funny thing when you look at the drilling sheets--you have strong back-end and late break-point reactions--far different from anything I have seen as far as drill sheets go.

had several levrg, solid, response, nsane and ntense and none of them where drilled closer than 5" from pap but mb is allways keep pretty close to my pap, and using a val angle of 45-80 and a pin angle of 10-25. with all balls i was able to get insane angles both in the front and back of the lanes especially with the original levrg.

Hey guys,

As you can see from my name, I'm a "Mo" hack.  I wouldn't write off the Frenzy.  Its a lot different from the Awesomes and LevRg's from Morich.  The LevRg's would want to grab right away and hook in more of a gradual banana shape (for me anyway).  The Frenzy, I would compare it to the Gold Rhino Pro of yesteryear.  By that, I mean if you threw a Gold back in 93, you'll get a similar reaction from the Frenzy on todays oil.  The ball gets through the heads extremely easily and makes a hard turn.  I'm speed dominant so the 4000 out of the box finish wasn't enough for me.  I took it down to 1800 and was still able to get the length but a much more controlled backend reaction.

That is weird. I have drilled a few and was happy with them. My brother drilled The Levrg(black/pink swirl) and the Insane levrg and they rolled amazing for him. I LevRg(black swirl) was a beast. Front to back was just sick.

I guess it just varies for people. The cores are all similar in numbers to everything else, must be the covers that don't match up for you.

Granted my brother didn't throw the ball like this guy in the vid, but he had this kind of ball reaction.

I would agree with kidlost... MoRich is a product line that you have to match up with... in fact... I drilled a few pieces (N'Tense, LevRG and Awesome Hook) TOO strong and they hit like pumpkins... The ones I drilled to go longer match up fantastic for me. Storm always goes to long for me and I need to drill them to rev earlier... All product lines cover 90% of the conditions within THIER line up... Not all product lines match up to 90% of the bowlers... I see speed dominant guys kill it MoRich and Strokers kill it with Storm here in Utah... Just my observations.

Look at this guy. A FIGJAM user name, a zillion FIGJAMs in his profile. Do you have masculine portraits of yourself hanging all through your house that you stare at for hours? I think this guy is a first-ballot BR Hall-of-Fame FIGJAM artist. No doubt about it.

I just got a LevRG drilled up a month or so ago. And that ball is the strongest ball I've ever thrown hands down. The ball reads the midlane strong and charges on the back with a force I've seen from no other ball. Even on the shark pattern, the ball moves for me very well. It can be release sensitive sometimes so I can see where it could be a dud for a wrong drilling. But once you match up correctly with it, it's an impressive piece! Waitin to drill up a Finish, Sahara, and Seek n Destroy soon

I guess after reading useless replies like this coming from anonymous users it's no wonder I quit this site for almost year. I guess he wants advice from 15 year olds that average 185 on a house shot telling him what to buy and how to drill it... and actually it's FIGJAAIU "just ask anyone in Utah" A55!

honestly with morich  i dont know sometimes, im 25 yrs old and been bowling for 10 yrs now with some coaching here and there,  Morich is kinda specific bowler type i think. and i think they work better on synthetic heavier oiled lanes, because around here where i bowl theres not alot of amounts of oil so i dont get to use them much they burn up and die before they hit pocket.. i also have and Ebonite Game breaker and Hammer black widow pearl, and they work good most the time..  but morich i think the bowler himself has to have alot of rev rate for these to work great.. i have a  Levrage, Insane and Intense.. and so far i do fairly well with the Insane.. but also everyone else has done well with the Insane i mean it was Walters favorite ball to as you noticed.. i think he needs to work on them to be user friendly instead of tryn to make them out hook everything in the world.. i mean its just me thought.. i throw around 14-16 mph with average rev rates, maybe i should be usen another company that matches more to my style and more for the amounts of oil around in my local area of bowling.. i mean im not doubting people that use the equipment at all.. but i just heard alot of people diss like  the Leverage line.. and i havent had much success ethier with it..
