Danny Wiseman's Ravage Part II

I recently bought a Ravage (click for pic) from Danny keeping the drill from the pic, just had it redrilled for fit.  I asked him what he wanted this ball to do, and he said big flare and heavy roll in the midlane to mimic a symmetrical ball drilling he likes -- great for flying backs or real tight conditions.  All I can say is WOW!!  I rolled this in league last night (where our backs have been killer this year!!) and it is as he described!!  Revs right off my hand and flares like crazy....But this ball is smooth -- doesn't jump when it finds dry.  When it hits, BOOM!!  Like a cannon going off!!  I thought my TA hit hard until now!  Not sure if this is a drill anyone would try on their own -- maybe KOTM or someone can comment on that -- I just know it works for me so far.  Danny's a cool guy, too!!  He took the time to answer my questions and just BS in general -- don't know of many sports where you can say that about the top pros!!

You can use any drill on a symmetric you could use on an assymetric. What reaction are you looking for that you would want to do this is a better question? Drill up balls for reaction, not because "I want this drill on the ball of the year."

Nollster, have you thrown any other ravages? Most every Ravage I've seen has reacted in that ball park (house shot killer) in that it is smooth but strong (maybe a bit more angular than you are talking about). Just thought it would be interesting to see how it compares to a ball drilled the same way.

I haven't, but my teammate uses one.  His ball speed is quite a bit slower than mine, but he's got good revs.  His Ravage goes long with a hard arc, and, like you said, a THS killer -- if he can keep it in the pocket!!  He's been all over the place lately.  Another guy uses one, but he's a spinner, so it's hard for me to compare reactions.  The way my Ravage rolls, it reminds me of my Rush (drilled 4x3) in its smooth arc and strong move through the pins.  The difference is in the hit:  the Rush will cut through the pins, keeping them low and clearing the deck, while the Ravage just EXPLODES on the pins!!  I don't know if the Ravage can unseat the Apocalypse as my favorite ball, but it's putting up a strong fight after 1 night out!!

Hello- With the pin being so high and leveraged do you flare over any of the gripping holes or weight hole? Do you happen to know your P.A.P? Thanks

That was a HUGE concern from people here, but I'm not hearing any thumping going down the lane and I don't appear to have any tracks going over the weight hole.  I need to have my PAP remeasured as I've made some release changes from working with Ron Clifton.  My initial track has gone from almost clipping the thumb hole to being almost 1 1/2" from the thumb!!  I was going to have it checked prior to drilling this ball, but thought "What the hey!!" and just had him keep it as is....I'll let you know once I get it figured out again.....
