New To MoRich...Questions
« on: February 21, 2007, 09:02:08 AM »
I picked up a WMB to be my heavy oil/ tournament ball and it payed dividends last weekend. I cashed in two tournaments!

Now I'm looking for another Mo ball to use under my WMB in my tournament bag. I'm  pretty happy with my hammer arsenal for league as I'm not currently in a sport league and the BW and Toxic are more than enough on THS.

I've done some reading and developed the following options.

#1 Try to find another WMB and polish/ raise the grit
#2 Try to find a Shock and Awe
#3 Buy an Awesome Flip with a control drill.

I'm currently throwing 15 lbs so I assume Option #3 would be the easiest.  I've thrown 16 in the past so that is an option. My main concern is the ball motion. I like the smooth and controlled backend of the WMB. I don't want anything skid/snap, even my Hammer stuff is drilled to arc.

I welcome all comments and suggestions.

What surface do you have on the WMB?

If you are using it on the heavier stuff then I would drill a REVS. If you go with more of a control type set up on a Flip it could create a very big gap there.

The WMB was a great wet/dry ball.  It never reads anything really hard. If you are looking at another heavy oil ball the Revs would be a good choice.  Might put some surface on it to tame it down a little, but a good choice none the lesss.

SO GET THE REVS....it would be a good step down from the WMB when it is rolling up too quick.

If you like the WMB, get the Revs. The Revs is as consistant in reaction as they come and would be a great compliment IMO to the WMB.

That's for the replies...

My WMB is straight out of the box. I wasn't even considering the Revs...hmmm Okay I'm off to do some reading about that ball.

Go with a revs, great ball very controlable.  I love mine. Most of my arsonal is hammer and mo stuff as well.  I saw all the great stufff about the revs and decided to pick one up too!  Its a great ball.  I also have the flip and have used that quite a bit.  Its a very aggressive ball.  Once it hits the dri ends it just takes off.  Very flipy as the name portrays.  I do have the Mo TSA also.  This ball would most likey overlap your WMB.  Its for heavier oiled lane situations.

I called my pro shop and he has one in stock. I'm going to swing by the shop tomorrow after work. The owner is familiar with my game and Mo's cores so I'm sure I'll get the layout I need for a 1-2 combo with my WMB.

My next question is about the differences between the balls with out of box finishes. (Assuming a similar layout)

Particle vs Particle Pearl, I assume the WMB will be earlier and handle more oil, but I'm not sure since the cores are not exactly the same.(?)

Above BowlinStr8t commented I may need to tweak the surface of the AR to tame it down. This makes me assume that OOB these balls are some what similar (?) or OOB the AR is fairly strong (?).

In either case I assume I will have to alter the surface or one to create some separation between them(?). WMB down or AR up(?)

Sorry for all the questions. I'm sure I'll discover the differences once I roll both but I enjoy the theory as well as the practical.

If you match up well with Track, you will love the MoRich balls. I will be doing a review on the AWESOME REVS soon.

Another review would be cool, there aren't too many on this board. I did the Morich videos on Putfile and those are well done.

I picked up my Awesome Revs. I threw some pratice games and so far I like the roll of the ball. I'm going to leave it at the box finish until I get a better feel for  the ball, then I'll start the surface tweeks.

Here are few pics. It's the same drill as my WMB, Mo's control drill for a low track.

I think this will fit great under my WMB. Thanks for the recommedations...

I hope it works well for you. I just drilled one up and I love the motion throughout the entire lane...and the strength it enters the pocket with is mind boggling.

In talking to an employee of my shop when I was throwing the Revs he made a statement.....it looks like it starts reving up and then it stops and suddenly turns left.

The REVS is probably the best MoRich ball I have thrown. I will post an actual review once I get some games on the ball.
