More than usual

I punched up the LevRG, that I recently purchased on EBay from 7mlmick, on Monday.

After practicing with it a few games, I knew that good scores were going to result from throwing this ball.

Now, a little back story of this year.  I've really been struggling.  Averaging 194, down 15 pins from last season.  I was out for over a month and a half this year because of re-tearing my supraspinatus in my rotator cuff.  Before doing this, I was throwing around 20 mph, and throwing 16 pound equipment.

After coming back from the injury, I decided I would go to 15 pounds.  Even with dropping to light 15, my speed is around 17 mph, not a bad thing at all, just giving some info.  I also decided to go without grips, because my span has been suffering, because of my middle finger being bent both left to right from the 2nd knuckle up, and from front to back (unable to straighten all the way) the first knuckle up.  Going without grips allowed me to widen the bridge, and drill the pitch I needed for the finger.  Just a lesson for you youngsters out there, don't throw equipment that isn't properly fitted.  I am now unable to straighten my middle finger all the way, and after the 2nd knuckle, it kicked to the right when you're looking at it knuckle side.

Anyways, With this LevRG, I decided I really wanted to test out a pin under drilling, so I could see how it works for me.  I purchased a 1-2" pin ball from the above seller.  Here's some pics of the ball:

So, last night, I head into league.  I'm pretty confident that I'm going to shoot pretty well coming into the night.  First game in league with the ball I go front 7, get the ball a bit inside and ring a 10 pin, pick it, strike, then come back with another 10 pin, spare it up and strike for 259.  Next game, get up there and ring another 10 pin on a good shot, pick it, go the next 3, then stone a 7 pin so hard that a few people told me the 4 went OVER the 7, it was crush... Anyways, picked that up.  Struck to the 10th frame and leave a... ::sigh:: 7 8, lol. Put it out a few boards, and the lanes were real oily if you tossed it out.  Anyways, I picked that up, and struck.  Me and my doubles partner lose second game only by 9 pins :-(  But I did shoot 247 that game.  Last game, I run the front 6, and get a little soft with the speed.  I was thinking 4 pin the whole way down, but I'm left with a 4-6-7 standing.  I get two out of it, get on the other lane, strike, then get up and leave another 10 pin.  Pick that up and proceed into the 10th, where I double, then get up there and whack it off my ankle, into the ditch.  235, lol.  Great way to end the night.

Anyways, wound up with 741 on my first league night with the LevRG.  159 pins over average on the night.  Found that I could play an area of the lane where no one else was really able to touch, because it was so oily.  This ball doesn't have as much action as the TS&A and the Awesome Hook, but it makes a predictable move through the oil, which is all that mattered.  It's good to finally shoot a number after struggling with an injury.

And yes, I like 15 pounds a LOT more than 16.

...I just realized, should I have put this under the FIGJAM in the misc? lol
