care of particle surface

i dropped a line to morich but i haven't heard back, can someone here offer some advice. in an attempt to keep the oob surface on my awesome revs i twice hit it lightly with a 4k abralon pad to remove the sheen, i have now been told that abrasives will wear the particles and lessen the reaction. i have noticed a slight decrease in boards covered but i had attributed it to an increase in oil. the revs is my best ball so if i need to replace it i want to get it done while they are available....tia...
btw i use simple green + alcohol to clean after each session.

Yeah rubbing alcohol and a paper towel is what I always used on my Revs and all of my balls and it kept it working just fine. if you want the ball returned to the OOB surface bring it to a pro shop and have them do it.

I doubt that Abralon will harm the AR's particles. The ball was made by Brunswick and I'm pretty sure, unless told otherwsie by MoRich, that they are the same particles that go into Brunswick's particle balls. Brunswick says it's fine to use any abrasive on their particle balls.
You're probably see less hook more due to use and oil absorption . Your dulling of the cover might, if anything, make it hook earlier and more. Particle balls are used on more oil, in general, than regular resin balls and need oil extraction every 50 - 80 games or so, IN ADDITION to regular cleaning. "Plain" polished resin might go anywhere from 60 - 100 game before needing rejuvenation/oil extraction.

thanks for the responses, heard back from morich, the particles will not wear from abrasives, to get the orig oob surface take it back to 320-400 grit and then use ruff buff.
