Just got a Lev-RG from pro shop guy.  Ball was in great shape and was drilled for length and backend, and was also polished, but I don't know exactly what grit.

  What I am wondering is, how strong is this cover/finish/core combo going to be?  The book I looked at says it came with 1000 grit OOB, but the video I watched at Buddiesproshop.com worried me because my speed isn't that high, so I opted for 2000 grit and was just wondering what to expect as far as strength wise.

  Lots of guys are swinging the shot with virtual gravitys and attitude shifts, a couple with acids, all in OOB I think, but throw it harder than me.

  Is this ball as strong as those?

I keep mine @1000 abralon and use it for a heavier house shot. It hooks, cover is pretty strong. Approx a 5"x 5.5", pin over bridge MB is right of thumb about an 1". WH is 6-3/4 from pin, 3-3/8 from MB, 2" down VAL. Gets decent length comes off the dry hard, pretty angular for such a dull ball. More of a late read than skid/flip. Needs oil or 10 pins start popping up.

Sounds pretty good.  This one I am only going to plug the thmb to adjust the span, but it is going to end up almost exactly like the control drilling for a medium tracker.

  Guess theres just one sure way to find out.......................

Honestly, I didnt even use the drill sheet I just copied another ball I love. I used it for my Friday night which they upped the oil on. I was using my break pearl, but its been skating so I brought this ball last week and banged out a 651. It should have been 700, but I tanked the last game. Needed 226, bowled 177.

My LevRG is drilled for length and smooth role, something like a 50 X 4 X 60 or something similar to that.

I find that it really responds to dry quick.  It's not so much of a flip ball as it is just really continuous roll.  I am a high-med tracker with moderate revs, I consider myself a tweener.  I like to play the track or the 4 board if I can get enough swing on the ball.  This ball OOB at 1000 was just too much for my house.  I kept the 1000 finish but applied polish to the ball and shot 4 striaght weeks of 700s.  The polish took that early drive off the ball and gave me an easy 5-10 feet of length with no change in my game.  That allowed me to turn its hard arc into smooth arc and as with all Morich equipment the carry is just unstoppable.

Anyway, hope this gives you some ideas to work on.
