Awesome Hook died
« on: November 03, 2006, 03:51:37 PM »
has any body out there have a Ah that has died on them? i work in a pro shop and had two seed balls from MoRich. both of these balls have died. one of these i drilled up for myself the other for a customer. my AH has less than 10 games on it and is dead. my customer has less than 20 games on his. when i contacted MoRich they sent my e-mail to freddy Carroll who does the tech stuff for mo. he told me to use the cleaning steps contained on the core tech section. well to sum it up, i finally got my customers ball replaced but i have to eat mine. so let me know if anybody else is having issues with the AH.
thanks

If it was fine at the beginning then the ball wasn't a dud.  Somehow I just can't believe that any ball that originally hooked can die in 10-20 games.  I see by your profile that you're not just some kid who recently picked up the game.  If you're sure that something isn't wrong on the lanes (stripper not broken, new oil that breaks down super fast...), I'd find a way to get MoRich to examine the balls.  Maybe the test balls have a different cover and they vary a bunch from ball to ball?

Yes.  I have a person that bowls with me on Thursday Night who is pretty hand challenged.  He had one drilled up that was layed out by Mo Pinel himself.  OOB, the ball was a monster.  It would go 40 feet and make a hard turn to the pocket.  2 weeks later, the ball looks like it goes 40 feet and pukes really bad.  Our pro shop guy who actually drilled the ball, has tried surface adjustments and it simply has not worked.  He is now throwing his Paradigm and the AH does not see action anymore.  It is not the lane conditions creating this simply because I have used the same ball every week since the start of league and I get the same roll/reaction now as I did the first week and our lanes are fresh.

I had a TS&A that lasted for 30 games. Had a 300 game and shortly after that it died. I tried Clean N' Dull, Haus Resurfacer, 2 hot water baths, 500, 1500, 2000 with polish and nothing worked. I was happy it brought 30.00 on eBay. I have already gone through 2 Seek & Destroy's that did the exact same thing, but at 100 games instead of 30. They were awesome until they died. My first Seek was in a Haus 2 or 3 times and that brought it back for 8-10 games then died again. It seems like its only the dull balls from MoRich that die on me. I have 2 Shock and Awes and the just keep on hitting! I have 2 more Seeks coming Monday and 2 Revs as well + just picked 2 Shocks & Awes. If Mo could just get his covers as good as his cores!!!!

I haven't had any of my MoRich stuff die on me yet even the WMB which seemed to die for everyone. I just use ribbing alcohol two clean them and every now and then a scotch brite pad sometimes hot water. My awesome hook is just fine and I have been throwing it for awhile now I think that if you don't use the ball cleaners and just use rubbing alcohol it keeps balls alive longer! every companies dull stuff seems to die on them Storm's Passion and Double Agent are both dying and Ebonite's One line are all dropping over from cracking or dying sheesh who isn't having problems like this?

Are we ever going to get into the habit of posting the conditions bowled on in these sort of posts? Unless we are on a long heavy THS or a med to long Sport Shot this ball looks like crap OOB... everyone knows this.

I wish I had over 30 games on my AH, Hercules or S&D... but I only see the "proper" amount of oil in tournaments. Now the AF... that ball is great on medium length THSs... I love it on 40 ft Sport... probably 45 games all in all. Still looks good off the spot.

Have any of you tried using the Elixir on the ball to protect it first.
