PREMIUM???? Coverstock using in LevRg
« on: January 13, 2008, 03:28:52 PM »
Can anybody tell me what exactly the coverstock using in the LevRg.

It seems like the "High Octane Coverstock" using in the Brunswick's FURY. I just throw 15-20 games and the ball absorb much much oil and became very shiny. And it began to loss the action and just skid and skid. I also bought a FURY before and got the same result. I feel very disappointed with today's bowling ball technology. Just 20 games, from a high performance bowling ball turn to a plastic like spare ball, and need to rejuvenate. It waste time and money. And also, it's not environmental.

It's C4 re-activator cover. Basically, a tweaked form of pk-18, but not quite activator or high octane.

ALL dull balls will tend to self polish if you use them often in heavy oil. Oil needs be extracted, then taken back down to oob finish

Keep looking... I'm sure there's a 300 in one of those balls you keep buying!!

I DO KNOW "ALL dull balls will tend to self polish if we use them often in heavy oil." BUT the point is it just like a spare ball ONLY after 20-30 games!!!!! I need to pay for the rejuvenation!!! Let said I pay USD20-30 each time for the rejuvenation every 20-30 games (i.e. 1 week once), after 2 months later, the LevRg is appreciate from USD14X to USD4XX, SEE!!!

Even I also think that NOT ONLY the ball absorb the oil BUT ALSO the cleaner (I use clean & dull).

That is the price you pay for getting a "high performance" ball. Simply put, if you want to maximize the performance of the ball over a long period of time you must maintain it. This means using a good microfiber towel to get the conditioner off the ball between shots, using a quality ball cleaner after bowling (as soon as possible) and also maintaining coverstock texture (abralon or scotchbrite work well) on a regular basis. This is "user maintenance" which is required to keep the ball performing at it's highest level. On top of this get the conditioner extracted out of the ball by someone with the correct equipment to do so or do it yourself in a safe manner on a periodic basis.

I REGRET to inform you that I HAD DONE all the above procedure which you had mentioned to ALL of my bowling ball, I am not an idiot, OK!

While I hear people complain about "ball death", I've never had that problem myself. I have some older high performance balls with thousands of games on them that still perform today as well as some newer releases with game counts approaching 1000 with no visible loss of performance.

All I can said is to congratulate you with all my heart!!!

I bowl nearly 20 years and never heard anybody saying their ball had no visible loss of performance after 1xxx games.

For comparison, if you want low maintenance and high mileage out of a set of tires for your car buy some designed for that purpose, but don't expect them to offer excellent performance in regards to traction.

low maintenance = can't expect to offer excellent performance???

I guess you had never tried "Lanemaster's" or "Visionary's" bowling ball.

So we are not in the same world!! Sorry!!

cmoore I am glad I am not you. I just tried to help you but screw it I wont try to help anybody ever again. Yes I have a levrg and its a total beast strongest ball I have seen. You just keep starting at 180 grit and working your way up Wont be long and your ball will not be rule compliant nice to have a 200 paper weight. If you would just read what I wrote you would understand. If you put your ball in the rejuvenator to pull the oil out then once oil is removed sand your ball with 1k abralon and it will take enough off the surface to freshen your ball up. You are basically saying you do a total resurface after 30 games funniest thing I ever heard keep it up.
