Below my Colossus supreme----thinking Hercules??
« on: January 13, 2008, 10:57:12 PM »
Picked up my supreme earlier this season, and absolutely love the ball. I picked it up because I needed something that had the personality of my Warp Zone(s), but could handly a bit more oil. I think the supreme may have passed the warp as my favorite ball of all time. Since getting the warp in summer 2005, have tried a few different balls to place above the warp for my tuesday league, and wasn't fully satified with any of them for the intended purpose. The supreme is/has been a perfect fit for what I needed wanted. I like it so much that I was thinking about trying a hercules to compliment it when the lanes start to dry up a little.

I start out with the supreme, and if it is too aggresive on the back end, I use my midnight scorcher and move right(I'm a lefty) and that's fine if the supreme aint working. When I need to go down I usually go to one of my 3 warp zones--which ever one I put in my 3 ball bag along with the scorcher & the supreme. I would like to know, would a Hercules work as a go to ball from the Supreme? Or is there too much of a gap between the supreme and Hercules? didn't want to get another original colossus--had a used one some years back, forget why I ditched it--would rather go to a slighty stronger core than the supreme(hercules) rather than a slightly weaker one(colossus).

Lastly, could anyone make a comparison bewteen Hercules and what I "go to" currently, which is one of  my 3 Warp Zones??  one polished, all drilled slightly stronger than the other.

the Original Black Colossus would be a better choice IMO the Hercules is pearl and will skate if there is no dry to work with.

What if I took the polish off of a hercules, would it fit then?

Hercules is plenty strong, i have 2 NIB 16 lber's if you are looking for one. It is not a weak ball by any means, awesome revs would be another fine choice out of the newer stuff.

I second the Hercules being too weak oob.  For me, the hercules was more of a medium hooking ball.  I had a Sahara drilled the same and they were similar as far as overall hook potential.  The Hercules was better for me because it was more consistent in the midlane and didn't give me that skid flippy type of reaction.  I would suggest a S&D (drilled weakly) or WMB.  If you go to something that is reactive you may not have that smooth read that you seem to like based upon your current equipment.  The WMB especially would be a smooth rolling ball that would fit nicely in your arsenal.
