Morich Guru's any ideas?
« on: September 20, 2005, 09:21:20 AM »
Gonna drill up a Sahara tomorrow.  I want it to fit under my ravage which is drilled 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" with the pin 1 1/2" above the midline (just right and under my ring finger).  I was thinking of 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"(mb on val) with the pin 1 1/4" above the midline under my ring or my other idea was to go 5" x 5 1/2" (mb in strong spot) with the pin 2 3/4-3" above midline above my bridge.  or maybe another idea would be better.  Trying to get a readable reaction for light to drier patterns.

PAP- 5 right by 1/4 up
speed- medium
revs- medium
axis tilt- 17 degrees

I would go with at least a 5" pin placement for Drier lanes(strong MB for more off the break, the cover goes long).  I made the mistake of going with a 4" pin placement, now I have a skid/flip monster on medium oil that's more aggressive than my TPC Warrior.

you can go with ...

2 1/2" PAD x 6 1/4 MB X above the midline.
I would use this to go straighter on the drier condition or to stay in the track area i.e  between 7-12 boards.

to play a little deeper i would go with a

4 1/2 PAD X 4 1/2 MB 2" above the midline.

adjust the surface deeping on paper or plastic.

Iketown,
I have a S&A, and a Hercules. Am having outstanding success with the control drill on my Herc and a length and flip drill on the S& A. Having said that, I would suggest you go with the 5x5 drilling, or something close to it. The motor (core)in the Sahara is still genuine MoRich!! It's still gonna do it's thing and do it strongly. That's why I've been having so much success with the weaker drills.

Now all I have to do is add and subtract hand to get a completely different look from these balls, but with that outstanding MoRich carry! Put the onus on the coverstock to get you to the door....and then let the core bust it open!
Just my take.
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!
