I recently punched a ravage with a control drilling according to the layout sheet. Pin is 2 1/2" from PAP and 1 1/2" above the midline, MB 6 1/2" from PAP just to the left of the thumb on the track side. One inch weighthole on the midline 2 3/4" deep, inside the VAL, pitched towards the axis. The ball is really anything but control for me. It picks up a roll nicely, but hooks too early. It is extremely whippy off the dry and is uncontrolable unless I am deep inside, playing all the oil that is there. I took a grey pad and knocked the factory shine off the ball, and that seemed to help a little bit, but it is reacting much more than I would have like. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on how to tame this ball down. I am not against plugging and re-drilling the ball, so any weaker layouts for the ball would interest me. I am a medium ball speed bowler, with my comforatable speed around 17. I would consider my rev rate to slightly dominate ball speed, and I tend to roll the ball pretty heavy off my hand. I have 4 balls in my bag with the pin up above my fingers, and these tend to be better for me as they create length. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
