WMB vs S&D
« on: November 09, 2006, 01:38:01 PM »
This post is for someone else.  He is a full-roller and likes his Total Annihilation but would like something for heavier or longer oil patterns.  He has been looking at the WMB and the S&D, but says he read that the WMB will die out after about 100 games.

What do the MoRich gurus here recommend for him and is it true about the WMB dying out?

100 games sounds better than 25 for the Awesome Hook or Seek and Destroy... ymmv

Ill admit my WMB died after about 200 games, then my second one died after about 25-30 so take that as you will. On the other hand when it was not "dead" it was my favorite ball

I will give you a thought--if the person with the full roller stays to the right and can throw it in the 'dirt'--I'd give them a WMB.  That ball will allow him to stay out in his comfort zone IMO.  The S&D might force him to move a little more inside and have to cross a few more boards than he might like.  Hope this helps.

He has been playing around the second arrow out to about 7 board lately.  Not sure if that qualifies as 'dirt' or if he is comfortable playing deeper.  I have sent him the link to this thread so he will be able to read this but he doesnt have an account to reply yet.

we all know that all balls like evertything else has a "shelf" life.  but with proper care and maintenance, "shelf" life may be extended.

I don't have a ton of games on my WMB, maybe 100, but it still rolls and hits like a champ.  If he likes smooth roll, not length and flip, the WMB is a great choice.

My WMB never died and S&D never died ot at least not yet. I would go with S&D for that choice I had those two in the bag at the same time earlier this year and it kicked tail! Just tell your friend to clean them with rubbing alcohol all the time and they will last alot longer than most of the posts are saying they will

the wmb is like a battery you put in the freezer to recharge. It will work for awhile after you clean it or what ever you do to it,but ultimately you will end up throwing it away and getting another one.
