Just got a Ravage and I heard it had a PK18 cover on it, but what kind is it, solid, pearl, or both? Looks like a hybrid cover, but someone has to know more about it than me, lol.

solid vs pearl in a pk18 coverstock with this core application really does not matter...
Why not?

What's in your bag?
Because you worry about the ball reaction, not the cover, not core. It's the ball reaction you're buying, not the individual pieces.

Bowling: Just like hand grenades and horse shoes, you only have to get close.
Life: Deal with what is.

CORRECTION:
The Ravage is a polished solid!

I understand that you judge a ball by its reaction. I'm just curious why it makes no difference what the cover is.
Not that I really agree, but I think his point is that it makes a big difference to the designer of the ball (as they're trying to create a certain reaction) but it doesn't make a difference to the end user because it's not something that can be changed. If the user likes the reaction, great. If not, do a surface change, drilling change, whatever.
If that fails, then the ball can not provide the desired reaction. It doesn't matter why since you can't do anything about it anyway. Try a different ball. The pro shop owner may need to know whether it's a solid or a pearl so as to make appropriate recommendations (don't like the Ravage because of X? The Sahara doesn't have that problem; don't like the Sahara because of Y? Try the Ravage).
I think your point is that for the most part, people here do their own research rather than making the driller do it (or to complement the driller's knowledge) and in that case, knowing the pearl/solid nature of the cover is important. Most other people rely on their driller's knowledge so they don't have to know those things.

hey particle man...guess what the only difference between the Rampage and Nemesis is...one is solid PK18, one is pearl PK18. Watching people throw the two, you can tell that the type of resin makes a huge difference. Either way though, the Ravage rocks!!!
