Revs Question
« on: September 07, 2007, 04:10:11 PM »
I have a Revs drilled pin under ring finger mass bias out about 3-4 inches PAP is 4 1/2 to 5 inches out box finish I have been trying trying to use the ball in a Tuesday night league that has two shifts so the oil is a a fair amount heavier than the norm but the ball doesn't turn for a crap but my HPP and Ravage4 out hook it. Tried it Thursday got the same result with Shock and Awe out hooking it by about 5 boards.

you guys think the Revs drilled to strong? Not enough oil on the lane for it burning up to early? Or is it a crappy choice of drill pattern on my part?

I put Storms first step polish on it Thurday it helped a little but not much thinking about continuing up the steps what do you guys think let me know?

Wondering what others would do in my place. Thanks for your time.

you seem to have the same revs and speed as a do...ive never thrown a REVS but i do have a FINISH and some people say the REVS is stronger on heavy oil...my FINISH works out amazing on heavy oil and if they say the REVS is stronger then i would assume it may be too much...but hey you will find out for yourself pretty soon!!...

How much flare are you getting?  This will answer your question of whether or not it was drilled too strong.  IMO putting the pin within 5" of your PAP is too strong.  I have one drilled with the pin 5-3/4" from my axis with a weight hole and I get a 3/8" separation between flare lines.  Basically you need too see if the center of the bowtie is stable or if you end up rolling over a previous flare.  I need to know a little bit more before I can suggest how to proceed.  Weight holes a good for generating more flare on asymmetrical balls, but not really for decreasing.  Drilling fingers or thumbhole deeper may be an option depending on what you find.

I am going with another step of polish first then if that doesn't work I will tape mine and figure out exactly where my PAP is and if it stable or not. I never thouught about it they way you stated in your post thanks for pointing that out.
