Haven't heard or read much about the Sahara.... Is it a true
dry lane ball? If not whats it like?

I find it lame they had to scribe on the ball "for drier lanes".

Better drill it super tame if you're looking to use it on dry lanes.
Rumor has it that it's using the same cover as the BVP Punisher, a ball I would hardly consider as a "dry lane" ball.

If there is one company that makes it very easy to drill a ball tame, its morich. I remember kotm talking about his colossus that he used on drier lanes. That is really how versatile morich balls can be.
I'm still not exactly sure how well that weak of a cover would match up. It seems like morich uses all strong covers, and it seems to be successful. Track does the same thing with their assym's. Not sure why they would change now, doesn't seem that the sales for the sahara are going to be very large.

My Buddy just punched up his Sahara and got to use them in a third shift tournament block. By the end of the third game, the lanes were toast!! He got a much better reaction out of his Roto Tire!!
This ball is definitely not a dry lanes ball! But it essentially says as much on the ball. It's for SOME drier conditions. However, it's still strong as heck. But that's not surprising....it's MoRich!!!
Drill it weak, and you might have a controllable ball for lite oil conditions,
depending on your amount of hand.

But then, by that logic, I would NEVR have expected even a polished solid PK 18, as used on the Ravage, to be for anything less than medium and probably medium-heavy oil. YET, if you tried to use it on anythign heavier than medium-light, without sanding it or having very high revs, you'd probably be disappointed.
According to the BTM review of the Sahara, it does appear to be very suited to pretty dry lanes. Being resin, it always needs some oil in the heads. AND the drillings used by BTM were those recdommended by Morich.

Those sport/tournament conditions should be light oil conditions if you intend to use the Sahara.
I know something about how some balls react, but for drilling MoRich balls, there are several experts here FAR, FAR BETTER versed in their idiosyncracies than I am. One of the VERY BEST (if not THE best) is King of the Mill, who has commented above. Please direct your question to him. (FYI he will need all your release specifications, the oil pattern/amount & maybe some other info.)
